Great PHEV SUV, could be better

The vehicle is spaces and luxurious. Almost everything I could ask for. The charging capacity rate is slow. Not enough information and or help out there to learn how to quickly charge the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle could be program to gas only and have it charge the battery. Sometimes, you have to feather the peddle so that it is charging.

A great vehicle

We bought this car because we can charge it at the house and drive it to work for a few days before recharging. On a roadtrip we run it on gas because it charges too slow for that kind of driving. That is the flexibility we wanted. We get gas about once every three months! All of the car's systems are great - it is very safe and that back up camera has saved us a couple of times. There are maybe two things I would change. I would prefer that the cruise control be a little more intuitive. I had to look up how to use it because it was not obvious. And I would prefer that the doors ALL unlock when you get out - I know that is a safety feature but I always forget. All of the climate stuff, the sound system, the seats, all of it is really luxurious and works great.

Outstanding SUV

This is the first new car that I have owned in my life (I'm in my 60s). It has been outstanding. My goal for a new car included (a) SUV - type performance with AWD/4WD + some light to medium towing capacity (b) PHEV drive system With 28000 miles on the car, I'm getting 94 mpg! This is not a typo: 94 mpg. More accurately, gasoline costs about four times as much as electricity in terms of "cost per mile" so the PHEV function means that my "gasoline" is costing about $1.25/gal. Yet another way to look at it; of the 28000 miles on the car, the gasoline engine is responsible for only about 8000 of the miles, and thus is experiencing very low wear (electric motors have essentially 1 moving part, and naturally experience low wear). The car is comfortable for driver and passengers. I'm not accustomed to all of the comfort features that the car offers and which (frankly) I mostly haven't used. There are *many* features of the car that I haven't used re: the substantial computer support. I would recommend keeping the basic BlueLink support, however.

2023 santa fe hybrid

I like this car very much. I would suggest changing the center console - the storage compartment is fine but there is additional open space below that I keep things in. Those items can be seen by others (so has to stay tidy) and are difficult to reach while driving.

Worried about quality

Enjoy driving the plugin hybrid 23 Santa Fe - I get over 100 miles/gallon except on long trips when the gas MPG is still over 30. But after 13k miles am hearing squeaks and creaks in suspension that I'm accustomed to hearing in older vehicles. Also am told my tires are wearing down fast probably due to alignment, and I had an oil pan leak repaired under warranty.

Comfortable and Smart Hybrid SUV, but Service and Range Lag

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid strikes a solid balance between comfort, practicality, and technology. The system alerts and notifications are genuinely helpful — not the overbearing kind that nag you for breathing wrong. Cargo space is excellent for a hybrid, and both front and rear passengers enjoy impressive legroom. The 30-mile electric range covers most short commutes, and Hyundai packed in plenty of features that make daily driving smooth and intuitive. However, it’s not all sunshine and electrons. The wireless phone charger doesn’t play nice if you use a case (so good luck charging while protecting your phone). I also miss the handy dash storage the older models had — now it’s a sleek stretch of plastic with nowhere to toss your keys. The 30-mile range, while useful, can feel limiting for longer drives, and service options have become a headache since the Westminster and Boulder locations closed. Having to drive to Denver or Longmont for maintenance takes away some of the convenience this car promises. Bottom line: The Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid is a roomy, comfortable, tech-savvy ride ideal for short-range commuters and families — just be prepared for the occasional inconvenience when it comes to charging and servicing.

Hyundai makes great cars

We love just about everything in the 2023 Santa Fe. I would like to see it hold a charge for at least 50 miles. It bothers me when I hear the engine go on when we’re trying to be eco-friendly. The roof rails rattle a bit at highway speeds. A little annoying. Acceleration is perfect and the ride is very comfortable. We are, however, disappointed that the new Santa Fe’s are all gas. The size of the car is perfect for us but we will be in a dilemma when the lease return date arrives. The Tucson is too small for me being 6’1”.
