Great sports sedan; not luxury brand though

The G70 3.3T is a fantastic car, but it is let down by the brand/dealership experience. The local Genesis/Hyundai dealer share premises. Hyundai has a modern office: Genesis has a trailer. Genesis service (9/10 calls) goes to Hyundai service where the rep sends call to VM. Most initial VMs do not get returned until after 2nd or 3rd call. Staff are nice in person or on phone. Underbody cladding fell off on highway; warranty claim denied, even though staff agreed it should not have been...was directed to call corporate office. As a brand that wants to be considered even as an entry level luxury one, there is a long way to go. This is unfortunate, as I like the design language of the brand and the G70 as a car.

Great car, terrible dealership experience over and over.

Car was solid, dealership disappoints time and time again. Issues with the dealership not wanting to warranty simple things, refusing to look at tarnished trim even though it was a known issue. Failed to pick up car during oil change. Never had loaners available, always took longer than quoted. Had to call Genesis of America to get them to do anything.

A great car! 4.5 rating.

I really like this car. It's looks are modern and of luxury. The sound of the variable exhaust is A+. Nice, sporty drive. Definitely going after the German cars. Interior design looks great with nice materials. The only thing that would make it THE car, the sport seats are not forgiving. Very hard to find a comfortable position.

Great vehicle

Not sure it’s so much of an upgrade from the previous version other than the new infotainment system. The car handles well but my car came supplied with all season tires verse the previous versions summer tires which handled extremely well. The car is a more comfortable ride than the previous version though.

A solid fun car to drive

A great car with great styling. … but missing a few key features. And also has a few quirks. It has no ambient lighting. It builds no boost during launch control use. It does not have a full digital display like all the other cars listed in its class. Car is also a bit slow.

Great car and comparable with MB, BMW, and Audi

Great car for the price. Incredible performance and technology. Gas economy not so good but it is a huge engine. It is really confortable in the front seats. Not so good in the back seats. Small trunk and storage spaces. A lot of small technical details that makes it awesome like the option to move the copilot seat been sit in the pilot seat.

Nice Car But......

This could be a great car if a few things would be addressed by the manufacture. My biggest concern is the rattles and noise that gives this car the appearance that it's built cheap. After less than 1,000 miles I started hear noises. The Driver wiper blade this installed incorrectly, but it could be corrected at the first oil change. I'll have to have the front plate mount by the dealership since there's no mounting place on the grill. Passenger doesn't have adequate place to rest an arm. Back seat is basically worthless. I'm 5-'7 and and the no room behind me to sit. The driver seat doesn't move when leaving the car.

The new G70

I recently purchased a 2022 G70. So far I am quite pleased with the purchase. I have not driven many miles as yet. Still waiting to have the vehicle front end wrapped with a protective vinyl covering. My limited driving miles have been a pleasure so far. Still getting familiar with all the controls. My performance fun vehicle is our 2013 Porsche 911S Cabriolet. However, looking forward to putting our new Genesis through the paces on some road trips in the future. The 2022 G70 compact sedan was my BMW replacement I've been waiting for. I am not disappointed with our purchase at all this point. Hoping for many satisfying maintenance free miles in the future.

G70 not too shabby

Overall styling, infotainment, and comfort of the car are great for the price point. However, the performance of the car isn’t all that great for what you’re paying. You can spend a couple more grand and get better speed from a German make. Not having the Genesis service program available through ALL Hyundai dealers is rather annoying. I understand they are technically a separate coming, but come on.. The locations are far to spread out.

Awesome G70 2022 model car

Excellent designed and built, great looking, good features and functions a beauty to behold, to look at and admired a pleasure to drive. For continuous improvement I would recommend improving the fuel economy as it is very poor. Also, allow the daytime running lights to be configurable.

Love the vehicle hate the service & brand

Vehicle is awesome but genesis has a long way to go before becoming a luxury brand starting with learning how to treat its customers. They need to separate from Hyundai attitudes!! I had so many issues after I bought this car from getting tags, to my second key to a new car being lost, problems with the paint job. Being threatened by the sales rep that sold me the car, when he had nothing to do with why my car was there and why I had a loaner. Inconsistent communication between departments and personnel within same department. Lack of problem resolution services!

Enjoy driving...

Real like the car and having a lot of fun driving. Very responsive and quicker than I had anticipated. Great having all the updated safety features and the navigation system is "spot on". Sound system quality and ease of operation is good. Solid value for the price.

Good

My experience with this vehicle is really good. Not only does it look good but it performs really well. Had a good experience at the dealership, typically I don't like going because of past experiences. This was different, the ease of the sales representative Tevin took really good care of my needs. Showed me the details of the vehicle and financing was easy.

2022 G70 prestige

The car has been great so far (1,000 mi). Extremely fun to drive, great acceleration, braking, and cornering. The interior is amazing. Everyone loves the contrast stitching. I was concerned about the back seat leg room but am able to manage by finding a comfortable driving position that allows my friends to sit comfortably in the back seat.

Almost there! but hella fun!!

Overall the car is GREAT but a few things I think cold use improvements: active exhaust sound is very poor. active exhaust from Mercedes or BMW sound much better like in the C43 or the M340 dashboard display should be fully digital and with color and animations. Currently display is very PLAIN and black and white. Looks exactly like my daughter's Toyota Corolla Seat needs to be more sporty/bucket seat. Good side bolsters but they need to bit bigger. Also the seat is not wide enough for bigger person. Leg extensions as not very effective like only the Mercedes or BMW Stock wheels and tires for the G70 Prestige model should be better like the ones from the Launch edition and with Pilot Sport 4S. Front tires are way too stretch and should come with wider tires Suspension and exhaust should be adjustable via button/switches in the normal/sport mode. Definitely would be better to have more control over those. The gap between the wheel/tires to the fender is too large. If you look at european cars they are much smaller. The steering wheel should extend maybe another 1-1.5" more. It would be nice if you offer the Prestige model with aero ground effect spoilers. Please let the car rev higher then 6K RPM Make all front and back double wishbone suspension please. The lever/shifter for Drive or Reverse should be redesign to a more sportier version. This cold also allow for using that shifter as a sequential shifter in addition to the paddle shifters paddle shifter are too small. Steering wheel size is good but should be thicker fuel mileage.

Overall it's to bad dealers do not have any cars in stock to look at or test so you are buying just on what you can read about the vehicle.I expected the g70 to at least have the options available on the sonata..If I had known the difference in the 2,I would have waited for a Sonata to be available

Good sports sedan

Overall this is a great car for the money. I've owned two other BMW 3 series and Genesis offers better value. The car has a great balance between comfortable ride and competent handling. I'm not impressed with the base engine but its ok. Fuel economy for the base engine is disappointing. BMW fuel economy and power output is much better.

very stylish vehicle and well equipped. performance so far outstanding and love all the high tech features. Just started driving the vehicle so still getting used to the driver assist features Iand the driving modes. Fuel economy is ok but consider the 3.3 twin turbo I prefer the performances over economy

Great Alternative to BMW

Almost on the same level as a BMW 3 series. Genesis is a strong brand with a bright feature. You pay less for a G70 than for a comparable BMW; however, you also get a little less (mainly fuel economy is strongly and performance is slightly lacking when compared to a BMW m340i).

Most fun car I've owned/leased

It took 7 months before I ran into someone with the same model...during that time I would notice hard stares, people driving besides me to get a better glimpse or point at me with a thumbs up and occasionally when stopped at a light or the gas station, someone would ask me how it drives. It's been a fun car to drive fast, luxurious and comfortable for the price!
