Elantra GT

I love my car, I really do. It took a little getting use to because I had an SUV for 16 years. I wanted to size down. I also have difficulty with cars because I'm not very tall, so visibility is usually an issue - with seats being low and high dashboards. I found the Elantra fit me just perfect. I felt comfortable and had great visibility. I've enjoyed jetting around the city in it and taking it on the road for road trips. The only three things about the car that I would truly like to change are: 1. the car should signal when you leave your lights on ...it sadly does not. 2. the rear window does not have the ability to spray washer fluid 3. the microphone does not pick up voice well, when trying to make a phone call. I'll say Robin and it will say I am trying to call Michael. The one negative about the car is the Tires. The original low profile tires on the car were HORRIBLE, the worst ever. The car couldn't even handle an inch of snow...it slid all over the place. I'd negotiate with the dealer to put better tires on before buying it, had I known or I'd push for a bigger discount knowing that I was going to have to replace the tires ASAP. Additionally the low profile tires that came on the car; the quality of them, overall was horrible too - they bubbled. The sidewalls would get a bubble and I'd have to replace the car, just from regular driving not hitting any crazy potholes - I was extra extra careful especially after first noticing a bubble right after buying the car which had to have been there when I purchased the car. This was indeed taken care of by the dealership after discussions. Giving features below a 5 because of the TIRES - all other features that the car has I like! And performance an 6 - because of the TIRES! I bought new tires and the car has been fantastic!

Good in a lot of ways

The vehicle is good but does not work well in bad weather. The car is good on gas and it is very comfortable I enjoy the heated seats and the leather interior. I have not had any major problems with the vehicle but I cannot get up my driveway, disappointed about that and need to trade it in before he next winter

Go getter.

I wanted the Tuscon originally but it wasn't in my price range. I tried out the Elantra GT and it drove similar and looks similar interior wise to the Tucson so I bought it. At first I felt that I may not have thought it through carefully enough and jumped into the first thing but I soon realized that this was not the case. The car fit all of my needs in was Superior to any car that I've owned before my car is 5 years old and still smells brand-new inside it's clean. Granted I have no children in a dog whose only been inside it a few times but that's saying something. As far as handling the three steering modes are decent it's nice to switch into sport mode when I'm in Winding Vermont Hills and I usually leave it on comfort for those long Highway drives including my morning commute. For a 4 cylinder I find the car to be adequately responsive and I enjoy the look from the outside. I really loved the European advertisement that showed all of the baboons going inside of the car and trying to break everything as well as gnawing on parts. The car is tough and I'm sure it will stand the test of time I think it is a great choice and I often take for granted all of its good features. I use the remote start in the winter and in the summer. I play my music through the Bluetooth and it's very easy. Heated seats are the best. Hyundai was once a brand that I used to question now I have an answer and that answer is yes I will drive and own a Hyundai. I believe my next vehicle will be the Hyundai Kona it will be for my wife if this car is this good and all wheel drive Kona can only be that much better. I should also note that my friend bought one not knowing that I had one and it was nice to be able to give him the tutorial as to how everything works he likes it after just coming from a Honda he fits all kinds of equipment in it.

Love car but couple of issues

Love the look of this car. Comfortable and easy to drive, and well priced. Great features included in price, like heated seats. Like the long warranty. Negatives: a blind spot caused by frame of small back windows. Would like lumbar support and a button or lever to open gas flap, there is nothing, so flap has to be pushed manually..sometimes causes confusion for gas station attendants. Only mechanical problem has been on two occasions the car wouldn't start needed to be jumped. Once in winter and once in summer, it wasn't a battery issue and I never did find out the cause.

My Hyundai

I do a lot if city driving. It gets the job done, it's comfortable, affordable, and looks good. My 2nd car if the same model and I drive them into the ground. I expect this one will outlast the first by another year or 25,000 miles.

Very Pleased with my 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Love my Hyundai Elantra and continue to be pleased with its performance. From the time of purchase in Harlingen TX at Bert Ogdens and then moving to North TX, my service has been very good. Had emergency service in San Antonio TX at dealers in 2016 that was great.

Great car

Great car and really comfortable. I really enjoy driving it on long trip and great gas milage. Had it for 4 years now and no complaints. There was one recall and Hyundai fixed really fast and free of charge.

VERY NICE VEHICLE!

The Elantra GT is a remarkable vehicle for its price. I make several 9 hour trips to Pennsylvania a year; and, to my surprise, this vehicle is very comfortable to drive and it handles very well on the highway. There are plenty of curves in the roads in North Carolina, and I find that the steering adjustment makes this vehicle very nimble in the turns and affords a great sense of control. My driveway is on a dangerous curve, but the manual-automatic transmission allows me to get into the flow of traffic with amazing acceleration by manually shifting my way through the gears. And, when this black, Elantra GT is washed and waxed, it's styling makes this compace car look pretty sharp!

pleased with car

I bought this car for economy purposes, I love the layout of the cockpit and the features. The bluetooth phone feature is combersome. to many commands to get to the point. The rear axle alignment makes the back end of the car feel like you are loosing control on slippery roads. I have had the alignment checked a few times and everybody says it is in spec. It wears out the back tires twice as fast as the front. Even thought I like the car I would not recommend it to anybody without mention of these issues

Overall sound vehicle. Love the gas mileage. Only having continually issue with windshield washer fluid filter continually clogging? Otherwise, a joy to drive and easy to park and maneuver around. Recommend this vehicle to others

Functional and great looking

I love my 2013 Elantra GT. I have a 6 speed manual which is very fun to drive, with the exception of it being terrible in snow (I do have low profile tires and did not weigh down with sand this year). This car is so functional and has way more interior space than one would expect.

Big surprise

I purchased the Elantra GT with some trepidation as to quality and performance, having only owned Honda's previously. This car has turned out to surpass most of the Honda's I previously owned in quality and performance. Only gas mileage and interior space ( magic seats) is where the Honda excells. I would definitely buy another Hyundai again.

Great gas mileage

After 5 years I still enjoy driving my 2013 Elantra GT on long trips, although I must say the seats are not as comfortable as they were. One complaint I have, even when it was new, is that there is no way to have the back seat lay flat. Had I known this I probably would have purchased another model.

Love my 2013 Elantra GT

This has been a great little car. It is small enough outside and big enough inside. It corners like a bigger, heavier car, has good pickup and is comfortable and quiet to drive. My driving speeds are quite variable, but I consistently get more than 30 mpg per tank.

Good Little Car

It takes me from point A to point B and at 4-cylinders, it does not need a lot of gas to fill up. It has sufficient room for carpooling and nice “bells and whistles” - built-in bluetooth, maps, sunroof, rear camera (safety feature when you’re backing into a parking spot), folding rear seats if you need to load extra items, connects to your phone so you can call or play music hands-free, 2 USB ports, and 2 charging units. If you’re not looking to drive up mountains, it does the job. It is however, a sub-compact so note that this review is from a petite lady although average height friends and family members have all fit in my car. I’ve driven this car trying to beat an oncoming blizzard. With caution, I was able to get home. (INote/Disclaimer: I do NOT recommend trying to go out in a blizzard just to test this car or any car.)

Great car for the price

Great car for the price. Very happy with the stereo. Great sound quality. Great quality for the price. Underpowered engine makes for disappointing acceleration. Styling could be improved which they did with the 2018 model.

I'm happy with my car

The only complaint I have is that this make/and or model is known for the air condioner getting blocked easy and leaks water that comes into the car on the passenger's side. It has happened 2times in 5 years.

I bought this model because of the styling and interior creature comforts. The styling on the new model is lacking. It seams that Hyundai has gone the more conservative road in styling, thats Sad !

My wife loves it, not me

Great car for getting around in the city; easy to park. Would not recommend for long trips on the highway. Rides hard and suspension creeks at times in cold weather. Mileage is below average for such a small car. There are better choices out there with Honda, Mazda, and Toyota.
