Great Car at a Fair Price

I've had this car for about 4 years and both my wife and I love it. Fun to drive and simple to operate...economical and low cost maintenance are pluses. We also have a Mercedes E350...but my wife and I both prefer the Hyundai! Plus, when I get an oil change and tire rotation at Hyundai, it costs something like $50 and I'm out in less than an hour...at Mercedes it's $450 and takes half a day...for the same service! Plus, the Mercedes dealer really applies the pressure for a good rating. At Hyundai, they don't have to!

Hyundai Elantra GE

LOVE my car. Almost 94K miles on it and runs like new...and we're still averaging 36mpg. We have 2 years left on our loan and I'm eyeing a very nice Tuscon at the Apache Junction location... I'm sure it won't be there in 2 years...but hopefully something even nicer will show up!!

Great Car For The Majority

The Hyundai Elantra GT is a good car for every day use. It is a great car for practically everyone. There is room for five people. It is fuel efficient in it's class. General info about me, the reviewer: I used to drive a two door hatchback with a six cylinder engine. It was a manual transmission. My current Hyundai has a manual transmission. It is important for anyone who is switching to a new car to understand that you will need to "get used to" the way a new car drives. This is very true when there is a manual transmission involved. First gear is hard to find and connect with when you are starting to drive this car. It gets better with time. One of the best features is the hatchback. I will never go back to a trunk again. This is also the first four door I have owned in a very long time. It is always a step up to have four doors. The rear seats fold forward to give a completely flat surface when you need to move something larger. This is my first car with a reverse gear activated camera. What a Great feature! Drive Mode: At first, you don't notice a change when switching the Drive Mode from Normal to Comfort or Sport. After you get used to the car you notice. When I recently drove an automatic transmission Elantra (2017) I detected the difference right away. I'm not sure if this little feature is standard but there's is a climate control in the dash board compartment or "glove box". One of the big features on this particular model is the full length sun roof. It goes beyond a moon roof in size. I like the option. When I first tested and bought this car I knew I would be giving up the acceleration I had with a six cylinder. I have gotten used to it. If you play an iPod in the early 2013 models you must get a special wire to attach to the stereo. Newer models have improved this issue. The 17" wheels look great and ride fine but AVOID POTHOLES! It is too easy to damage sidewalls of tires with the wheels selected for this model. I like the car and will keep it even though this issue exists with the wheels. Paying attention to the road should be a #1 priority when driving anyway. I hope this review helps.

The car was very reliable and comfortable. I need a bigger cargo space for my two large dogs but for a single driver or small family, it is an ideal car to own!!

Sporty without the Sporty Pricetag

My Elantra GT is so Much Fun to Drive. I love the Steering Options. Some days i drive in the Comfort mode, and some days I use the Sport mode. Great Fuel Mileage!!

My car

Overall I like my car, but I don't like the fact that I was told when I purchased my car that it had not been in any accidents and now I am finding out that this car had been wrecked before and the dealer lied to me and my brother who has been in car selling business before. Other than the wonderful service department I think I would second guess my decision if ever I were looking to purchase another car. I would probably not purchase from this particular dealership.

My little race car!

I love my Hyundai Elantra GT. The sleek and minimalist style of the interior and exterior makes me feel proud to own such a good looking car. I had always wanted a stick shift and finally got one in this purchase, so for me it feels like a little race car (while also being incredibly fuel efficient).

Sporty feel, economic to drive

The GT had the right amount of features that I was looking for at the right price point. Interior is great and I love the sunroof option. The two things that I don't like are the factory tires that were provided. I had to purchase snow tires for MN because the factory tires were awful in the snow. Once I put snow tires on the car performed as it should. The second thing is the traction control monitoring is not the best. There are times that the traction control tries to compensate that causes you wonder if the people from Hyundai have ever driven on snow or ice. I disengage this feature whenever it snows.

One of the best cars I have owned

I have had many cars over my years, and always like a little sportiness to them The Elantra GT is perfect. Right size, good mileage, enough room, enough power, useable area in the hatch. The HUGE panoramic roof is amazing, and not obstructed by a big cross beam across the middle like on some cars. It makes it feel open and spacious. The 6 speed is fun, and I love the blue leather seats too. Backup camera is hidden under the "H" on back, and it flips up, James Bond style when in reverse. The camera never gets dirty as it is hidden most of the time. Overall a fun and nice car to drive. Never have problems, and have now had it over 4 yrs.

Sporty ride

It's sleek, sporty, handles well, and is pretty good on the gas. The sound system is powerful. Even in overcast seattle, just opening the shade on the sunroof lifts my mood entirely. Love the 6 way adjustable seat. This is the coolest hatchback you could dream up.

Fun fantastic car

Love our Elantra GT. Our 2013 still looks stylish and is peppy and fun to drive. I have other Japan and European name plates, but I like the GT the best. It is the right size for driving on Oahu. I actually think it looks more exterior visually stylish than the new 2018 models. The panoramic roof is nice and makes an open feeling on a smaller car like this one. The engine purrs nicely and the dual automatic for manual shifting is awesone. The narrow tires and rear do feel more bumps on poor Honolulu pot hole roads, but on the freeway it rides better and there is a space saver tire on the boot. All good, thanks Hyundai for a keeper.
