Step in the right direction

Hyundai has made leaps and bounds in styling in the hatchback scene. With a little more horse power and better handling Hyundai could be best bang for the buck contender. Acceleration need improvement and sportier styling.

FULL OF PERFORMANCE!!!!

Overall very pleased with this vehicle except for cheap leather seats and road noise!! Car has a lot of power and very good braking. Does well on long trips. A little problem getting in and out but overall as I said I am pleased with purchase!

Great car, very satisfied!

Great car, love the styling. I drove a 2000 Hyundai Accent 2 door for about 20 years with no ac, crank windows, no abs, manual transmission. So this base model GT was a huge improvement for me. I've never even had a key fob before! Great price, great warranty, low maintenance. ?

Good Car in General and Great Car Considering the Price

A ton of value, fun to drive, very good sound isolation on the highway, easy infotainment system, and good interior too. When you consider it costs about 50% less than the comparable Honda Civic, it's really impressive overall.

Elantra GT

The car is ease to park, quick, very good gas economy and despite the reduced size, is very comfortable and plenty of room in the cargo area. Something that needs to be improved is the position of the windshield wipers that do not allow to clean accumulated snow in a storm and when trying to lift them they damage the paint of the hood.

this vehicle is not perfect but is fun to drive is have issues in engine and automatic transmission and fuel economy is not the one expected Hyundai have to make in their vehicles better engines and automatic trasmissions

2018 Elantra GT

The Elantra GT has adequate power and features, but what I don’t like is it doesn’t come with LED headlights as standard, and it does not have Homelink garage door opener. It has LED dayrunning lights but projector halogen headlights which are inferior to LEDs. The steering wheel is too skinny (made for a women) for my taste.

Paint too thint as well as body panels

I have taken my 2018 Elantra gt sport two 2 dealerships, the first one told me that yeah it seems that is too soon for the front bumper to show this many chips and that it maybe some issues with the paint but unfortunately I did not buy the car there so I need it to go with the dealer that I bought the car from, (and I would like to make a pause here, why do I need to go to my original dealership, is not all Hyundai a Hyundai no matter where was it bought Hyundai should honor the warranty no matter where the car was purchased, I don't see them sending me away anytime that I need oil change, they should tell me sorry we can do it here because you did not buy it here, any ways) The original dealership told me sorry it's a black car you should expect to see this besides all cars are going to be like this i should not pretend not to have this kind of issues, they almost said is my own dam fault go cry some where else. So yeah I am not very happy like I said to the service manager from this place Dan this is not my first new car and this have never happened, not with Nissan Subarus VW none of them. Any ways let's say that I am not 100 per cent happy with this purchase quality or dealers.

Love the Color

Nice car, kind a smaller sometimes the technology doesn't work properly the auto android disconnect once a while and a critical moment, like when you are in GPS time hate that, get lost a phone call or disconnect from GPS, and the driver's blind spot mirrors doesn't work 100% properly, onces a while doesn't work. But I'm old fashion still use my head moving to see those blind areas to avoid any accident.

It's okay.

I was rather pressured into trading in my 2014 Turbo Veloster for something new. I read that 2019 Velosters wouldn't be available until 2019. So,i settled for the Elantra. I feel like an old man driving a station wagon. I really miss my V car. I should have bought it.

I wish it was better

To me the car looks great and I love the engine tone. It is responsive, and is fun to drive, to a point, but now that I have spent over a year with the car I can point some of the flaws. Again sheet metal is not the best, every time I clean it of wax it I can feel the panels flexing and that's concerning, the wind shield quality is not up to vw's and road noice is bad. And now that the sport trim was replaced with the n trim and some of the suspension issues where addressed as well as the engine and transmission mounds improved, I can help but feel cheated some how. But at least I still love the way it looks.

An OK hatch

I owned the Hyundai Elantra GT 2.0 for about 1 year. Looks, power and responsiveness are are ok but bought this car planing to make it look sporty and boost the power in it but no after market parts are available.

Good car

I have my 2018 Elantra GT for about 1 year now and I am quite happy with it. I liked my old Elantra much better and am sorry that I didn't keep it. The 2018 Elantra is not as comfortable, has less trunk space and is noisier than the 2008 Elantra.

Ok

I love all the regular features on all Hyundai vehicles, plus the heated seats and the lane change warnings that were extra. The seats are terribly uncomfortable though and iare giving me back problems.

Subpar city mileage and constant wind noise

Fun to drive, and good highway mileage, but numerous issues. Two weeks after purchasing the car, the seal on the front window began lifting and they had to take the car for about a week while Hyundai engineers looked at the issue. If you get a quarter-glass panel broken by someone, no dealers or mechanics have this model in stock. Quite a wait for a new one to come in. The front driver and passenger windows occasionally start sliding down while driving. There is constant wind noise over 50mph from the seal between the door and frame. Brakes feel quite soft, even brand new.

Elantra GT Sport

The exterior and interior styling is sharp. The leather seats are comfortable and when they are heated it feels great in the winter. The engine and 6 speed transmission are more than enough to get you up to speed quickly. Android auto integration is great and works well. There is plenty of room in the back seat for kids. Aside from the mechanical issues my car has had, its been a good car.

Great car with lots of technology.....

When I was shopping for a new car. I had three must haves. A real spare tire, heated seats and a rear view camera. Only the Hyundai Elantra had these features for this vehicle class. Not Honda, Not Toyota... The only weak link is the engine. After doing some research. It seems the engine is plagued with whats know as "engine ticking". It seems the pistons slap on the cylinder walls and eventually will lead to engine failure. I have a little over 8000 miles and am experiencing this issue now. Hopefully this vehicle lineup will get a complete revamp of the engine design.

DCT

This car has a terrible DCT transmission. My GT sport is slipping and jerking from 1st to 2nd gears. I have taken it to the dealership and was told that the problem was corrected but, that isn’t true. Hopefully Hyundai can fix this issue otherwise my business will go to another brand.

A fan of Hyundai

Disappointed with my last visit at the service department. Service department do not have a clue on how to fix my windshield wiper and lied about checking my breaks. My problem is that it grind and make noise and they said there is nothing wrong with it and sure enough it was not fix.

2018 Elantra GT could be better

The 2018 Elantra GT is a pretty good car. The one I got had pretty near all the features I wanted except for three important features that should be on every new car. The first feature it should have is LED headlamps, mines had LED Daytime Running Lamps but halogen headlights. Second feature should be light auto dimming rear view mirror. Third should be Homelink programmable security gate/ garage door opener. The car itself is ok, acceleration is very good. But the thing I most don’t like about the car is steering, there’s a lag when you turn the car that should not be there. It’s not as good as a Mazda in steering to wheel contact and movement. You have constantly adjust when driving to stay straight and in turns. Good thing I leased this car. I will be heading back to Mazda When this lease is over. I used to shuttle cars for Hertz Rental at the airport and drove Kias to Porsches and many brands in between, I know what I’m talking about, this car would be good for a young family because of the warranty and pricing but not someone who’s been driving for 50 years, me.
