Love my 2011 Genesis 4.6 V8!
Over the years, my most memorable cars have been muscle cars with a good ol’ American V8. A 1987 Mustang 5.0 5-speed manual, a 1994 Camaro Z28 LT-1 6-speed manual, etc. This Genesis with the 4.6 V8 takes me “back in time” to those muscle car days! But, with a bonus of refinement and luxury to go with it! Then, the unexpected bonuses of 28 mpg highway, 0-60 in 5.5 sec, a Lexicon kick-butt upgraded stereo with a punchy subwoofer, ultra quiet cabin, adaptive cruise, and a host of additional features, and I am in love! I bought mine from the original owner for $10,200 with only 31,709 miles on it, and it feels like the deal of the century! I can’t inagine how fun the 5.0 V8 model must be! I have to admit I have thought of putting on an aftermarket exhaust to give it a little more tasteful rumble, because I have a feeling it would be incredibly fun! But I have since found out my wife likes V8 power too, so I already lost the car to her as her daily driver. It’s all good! I still get to drive it for trips! Only negatives I’ve seen are the NAV system user interface sucks, and the ride is too choppy over bumps. Yes, I like a tight suspension, but not at the expense of a luxury ride! The suspension engineers didn’t get it right. Maybe later model years fixed the problem - I hope so! With that said, it really cruises great on the highway. Overall, a fantastic fun vehicle!
