2007 Kia Sportage

I bought this car used with 74,000mi. Was in excellent condition. Now has 130,000mi. Still feels very solid without rattles. Engine and transmission strong (V6). Been running SYN oil and drain trans yearly using SYN there also. It's not the fastest and the gas mileage is around 20mpg on average with air on, but is very comfortable for our purposes. Changed timing belt and water pump at 100,000 and just had to change the front lower suspension bushings ( I live on rough dirt road and 130K miles). Looking forward to 300,000mi. D.C.

Alternator

My car was previously maintenance with what I thought was good service couple of mos. before my alternator went out at Subaru . I specifically asked the dealership (Subaru) to check the ignition and general area because it did not sound right . I asked them to do a thorough inspection and I was told everything is ok! A month later I had my car towed as a result of being stranded on the side of the road as a result of a bad alternator. I specifically asked Subaru to inspect the Alternator the day I brought it in ( mos. prior and the day it was towed in) I was told it was my 2 yr. old battery. I then had my car towed from Subaru to the nearby battery shop that I had my 2 yr. warranty under and they replaced it advising there was something more serious wrong w the car which by a local (mom and pop) auto repair shop advised and fixed my Alternator , correcting the same issue I told Subaru was wrong with it in the same week. Subaru caused time, money and frustration on my end misdiagnosing my car. My confidence in big dealership automotive repair is ruined! The sales rep that assisted me inquiring about a purchase of a car was slightly rude and matter of a factly w his personality. Not sure if that was b/c I was a women but I cant imagine him selling many cars. Needless to say I will not be back!

MY SPORTAGE

THIS VEHICLE IS THE MOST NICEST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!!! IT HAS THE MOST COMFORABLE RIDE AND NOTHING HAS EVER GONE WRING. I HAVE ONY DID MY OIL CHANGES AND MILEAGE MAINTANCE ON MY SPORTAGE. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS KIA FOR 7 YEARS AND I DO NOT WANT TO TRADE IT IN YET. IF EVERYONE HAS ONE LIKE MY SPORTAGE, DEALERS WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM, BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD WANT TO TRADE IT IN............................. I BOUGHT IT IN 2007 WITH 10000 MILES AND IT NOW JAS 53000 MILES.
