The service manager is Chris. He is very professional. He will do whatever it takes within reason to help you out. The main problem is the length of time it takes to get anything done. I don't know if that's by design so you will stay longer so that you will be more tempted to buy or they just need faster service techs.

Don't trust the tech in completing tasks. Need to check behind them when completed.
Disappointed in the quality of work. Not serious to customers needs and seems to be interested only making additional charges and not correcting the task given.

Issues in the order they occurred.
The Service adviser took a whole day to call us back after we found out the motor swap had been approved & by the time they called back it was too late (around 4) to arrange for a loaner so an extra day of work was missed by my wife ($170-190). The rental car process was also a very irritating part of the experience. The rental company charged our card instead of billing Hyundai for the second week of the rental process and it took a four way call between a guy from Lakeland Hertz, a lady from their corporate office, a lady from the credit card company and my wife to straiten out the billing. This phone call took over an hour and my wife was at work when she had to deal with it. When we came to pick the vehicle up it was making noises that it hadn't made before the repair. Prior to the repair it would knock for a few seconds after the first start of the day on an internment basis. It didn't even knock every day or after the first Start after warmed up. We were informed the alternator would need to be replaced at a cost of $844.92 because the clutch had failed on it. Having been a ASE certified electrical tech at one point of my life I looked up the Clutch pulley and it retails from Hyundai for $197.90 (part number 37321-25201) which can be acquired wholesale for $87 still using OEM parts. I can do this repair in 10 Minutes So I would like to know how you justify the extra $500+ for this repair which by the way the one-way bearing has not locked up on me once doing the 2k RPM shut down test. I have not had a free minute to locate the actual loose component that rattles between 1500 and 2000 rpm but will soon. All I can say is I am very disappointed in how your service department.

Because of your particular rental experience we have replaced the national service with another company. As for the part pricing from Lakeland Hyundai; we do buy our parts directly though the manufacturer and cannot buy parts from any other vendor as it is a violation of our franchise agreement. The parts and labor were quoted separately, but may have been overlooked.

As a former technician we are sure you are aware of costs associated with operating and maintaining a business. We believe our prices are competitive to other brand dealerships and always strive to provide professional service and competitive pricing.

Our teams strive every day to provide the best possible service at competitive pricing. It is never our intent to mislead, provide any false information or waste the time of any customer. Again we apologize for not meeting your expectations and if we can do anything, please let us know. We hope to earn you business in the future.

Service was completed, but took longer than had I done it myself. As far as the buying process, I would NEVER suggest anyone go here. I was lied to multiple times, by my salesperson, whom I found arrogant and cocky. Wish my situation would have allowed me to try another dealership for the purchase.

We had an issue with an oil leak and once he got involved, he jumped all over it and is now producing results. Hopefully all of his subordinates listen and learn from him because I'm sure they could all greatly improve their customer service skills by following his lead.

car is awesome/employees not so much
Didn't find the oil leak even though there is one. At first we were told no there wasn't an oil leak until my wife popped the hood and pointed it out. After that the response was, "oh yeah that! They couldn't find an oil leak, it must be a fluke." My take is that an oil leak isn't a fluke period. This is a new car that only has 18k miles and shouldn't be leaking oil from anywhere. I feel like my wife was just brushed off and not taken seriously. We love the car but are starting to regret dealing with this particular location. If this car wasn't under warranty and oil changes already paid for i would not return, i would do the work myself. The woman that is deal with is always nice but i think the problem is probably the mechanics not knowing enough about how to work on this car. Unfortunately our service writer is the one who has to relay the message from the mechanic. The car still has plenty of warranty left so we will keep an eye on the oil leak.

Lack of effort
I came in to get the pin code for a smart key, a service advertised as available only at the dealership. I was told the pin number was only available as part of the programming and that the service would cost 80.00 A service which costs 45.00 elsewhere. I was left with a take it or leavei it choice

I think the service dept. needs to improve there time. It took 3 hours for an oil change and to change a cable. Others places told me it is about a 30 minute job. I would hate to see how long it would take without an appointment.

The only reason I even gave 2 stars is because of the service rep's (Samantha) outstanding level of service (5 stars in my opinion). My car is a 2015 Sonata 2.0t purchased new from this dealership with only 14k miles at the time of service. It has required service 3 times in a little over a month for the same issue (turbo problems). The first visit Lakeland Hyundai blamed a bad hose, they returned the car as fixed with a strange whining noise. Two weeks later I end up stranded because my turbo failed and the car could not produce enough power to run safely on the interstate. For my trouble, I was given a free tank of gas. A nice gesture but it clearly showed the service managers detachment from the real frustration of being stranded by a brand new car that was never fixed properly the first time. 3 weeks later, you guessed it, my turbo fails, again. This time causing me to miss my son's performance. How did the service department show their concern for my inconvenience? By claiming to have washed my car. Unfortunately, they couldn't even get that right. I dropped it off clean but when I picked it up it had chewing gum stuck all over the front left quarter panel. At this point, I can't see how anyone in my situation could expect quality or be able to trust the Lakeland Hyundai service department.
