Tahoe- better than most

Ours is a 2005 Z71 so it's loaded and has captains chairs and cream leather heated seats. Solid V8- simple and strong and today most cars-trucks are neither - rarely both. It's a beast in the snow, civilized around town, easy to park, ok on gas- but not great - 16 average- we are not on E85. Provides 7 seats but third row is for junior, the team mates and your short friends only, it's offers style and space - classic US exterior styling and parts are easy to find and easy on the wallet too. You buy a Tahoe for the near bulletproof V8 donk - crazy value versus Toyota Nissan Infiniti et al and because it's a domestic success story. Go GM!! How often can you say that today?? Tahoe could be Swahili for "reliable workhorse"

My modified Tahoe

Very good vehicle, was a great start for my complete modified show truck.

GM: WORK ON LONGEVITY

My wife and I purchased this vehicle used several years ago. It is a VERY well designed vehicle. I just wish it would hold up to everyday life better. I was a Ford guy when we bought this Tahoe. Apparently, Ford thought that blowing spark plugs out of the head was OK. Previous GM vehicles have nickled-and-dimed us constantly. THIS GM IS NO EXCEPTION. It consistently needs some part or repair. And I'm not talking regular maintenance parts; I'm talking rear heater core (so the heater/A/C will work) and replacing the electronic instrument cluster at 120,000 miles. What the hell? So, yes, this vehicle is designed well, and functions well. I just hope you can afford the parts and repairs in the meantime. SHAME ON YOU GM!

One thing keeps it from perfection

Getting the third row seat out would make this a five-star truck. Comfortable, quiet, safe- all you'd want in a large-size SUV. Add in the highway-speed acceleration you DON'T get in a Suburban or similar-sized trucks, and a little sportiness gets tossed in as well.

Electrical nightmare.

I like the truck. It runs good. But it's an electrical nightmare. Nothing in the dash works right except oil pressure gas gauge is off everything's off battery charger is off everything is off it's gauges just aren't working they're junk. Second time. Second truck that this has happened with!
