5.7 L hemi
Decent car to replace my aging Ford.
Charger has tons of features, many of which I don't use or don't want (sunroof, weather alerts, heated seats, back up camera, tons of stuff I have never even looked at). Reasonably comfortable. Some of the bonus features it has are remote start, extra interior lights, upgraded wheels, readout of engine performance. It has tons of storage, vents for AC/heat for back seat, lots of USB ports. Decent sound system. I wish it had a CD player. Absolutely hated Sirius XM. Took an act of god to cancel my service - very annoying.
It is a BIG car. Does not easily fit in my garage so it stays outside most of the time.
Some of the cons:
The accelerator pedal has a built in delay (something with the computer is what I was told). When you hit the gas from a stop, there is a noticeable delay until the car engages. If you keep your foot on the gas, the car will either burn out when it eventually engages, or if it is raining or icy out you will end up going sideways. This is a huge safety issue in my opinion. Very poor design.
Interior is hard to clean. The dash and door panels have some kind of texture on them so pretty much anything you clean them with sticks to them. I usually vacuum mine, otherwise you are left with white fuzz all over the place.
The doors either open too wide or the door handles are placed in an improper position. If the door is all the way open, I have to get half way out of the car to be able to reach the door handle and shut the door. .
There is WAY TOO MUCH going on with the display screen. Makes me wish we could go back to the good 'ol days when everything had separate controls. You could spend an entire work day going through the options and still have more left to see. One thing I find really annoying is that I have to turn the radio on in order to get the screen to come on and use my heat/AC. You can't do anything else if the back up camera is on. It seems odd that the back up camera overrides everything else in the car.
There are also a couple of weird idiosyncrasies that I've just gotten used to. For example, sometimes the front running lights come on when I start the car; sometimes they don't. Why??
Also, sometimes all the doors unlock when I open the front door, sometimes they don't. There is no rhyme or reason to when they decide to open, they just do. Also, sometimes the back doors won't open when a passenger tries to open them. Why?? This resulted in a little kid throwing up all over my seats because he couldn't get the door open. Sometimes they open, sometimes they don't. No logic to it at all.
