2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0

This is an excellent car in all but a few respects. The V8 power id fantastic and the gas mileage for a V8 is outstanding. Heated AND cooled seats are wonderful and the handling is superb. My only negative comment relates to oil consumption. My other automobile (2001 Honda Accord V6) has 123,000 miles and I have yet to add a drop of oil between 5,000 mile oil changes. My Genesis (with 23,000 miles) uses about 1/2 to1 quart of oil between 3,000 mile oil changes. I am hopeful that this is because the break-in has not been completed...all told, I am happy with the car.

close but not quite there.

1. No steering feel. 2.Transmission manually downshifts slowly or not at all. 3. Radio surround setting needs to be set constantly. Great car with many options for cheap since depreciation is high for this model. Love the ride, and the looks.

Genesis RSPEC Comfortable Power

Overall love the car.... However it Burns as much oil as it does gas.....Hyundai does not admit they have a lower global lower block issues on the 5.0 and state oil consumption as normal.

Beautiful to look at

Downside to this vehicle are as follows: 1) "select knob" is in a very busy area with no lock-in place mechanism 2)CD does not automatically go the next disc and needs to be done manually, simple feature, put it back for those of who use teaching cd's. Let driver choose same 3) cannot listen to media in an "accessory" mode; vehicle must be running 4)voice recognition is TERRIBLE 5)this class of car should have auto trunk opener and not just a trunk release 6) warning message must be manually removed; should auto disappear after a set number of seconds 7)need more space in console area

2012 Genesis

I love the operation of the vehicle, but I don't total agree with the manufacture warrant on my or any other when comes to the sunroof operation. The car is 2012 with 38000 miles; the warranty states 5 years and 60,000 miles and parts of the sunroof is cover under the warrant. I thought I wanted a newer one but I think I have change my mind. Overall the car is a great performing car.

Still Enjoying

I bought those car new with only 6 miles on it and it's been as fun to drive now as its been when it was new. Occasionally it goes through oil mysteriously, but what the hay. I can't wait to the new 2017 Genesis Sport becomes available. I will 100% get that car.

A very enjoyable ride, with one exception

I've really enjoyed the nice touches that my Genesis is loaded with. The only/main complaint is with the refuelling system...Sometimes I can't even get more than 2 gallons in an empty tank before the fuel auto shuts off! The only work around I've found is I have to babysit the nozzle and even hold back the vapor recovery system to get the fuel to continue before auto shutoff. This also occurs at a variety of service stations!

2012 Genesis Purchase

Bought a used 2012 Genesis 3.8L w/Tech package a few months ago. At 51K the vehicle was due for a few maintenance visits and service has been wonderful to deal with. They have made sure my used purchase experience has been a pleasant one. Hope to get many years of service out of this vehicle. A great value for such a quality built vehicle.

Solid ride. Powerful engine. Nice interior touches. Service is close to us and Forrest Smith and staff do a good job.The heating and air work well. Three areas for improvement: 1. Make sure passenger seat can be raised/lowered as a standard feature. We sit too low.2 The frame is wide at the windshield corners which restricts vision of oncoming traffic to our right. 3 Seats could be a bit 'cushier' (pretty hard.)

2012 Hyundai Genesis

Excellent vehicle when purchased in 2012; great value and did not have to purchase a lot of "options", which were standard; overall interior/exterior design was nice; very roomy vehicle; experience a couple some issues (water drips into truck when open, back up camera monitor display slow); however in 2015 I experienced a major rear end collision while stopped on interstate and Genesis received minor damage to rear end (but OEM Genesis parts were hard to come by and costly $14k repairs), the other vehicle (Volkswagen Jetta) front end suffered major damage and driver was injured. I was VERY thankful to all of the safety features and design of the Genesis.
