Cheap Feeling and Very Clunk for a Hybrid

Initially liked the vehicle enough to buy it but after 1300 miles I got rid of it for a V6 Palisade. The Hybrid MPG claims 36 on the screen but in real world manual calcukation it was not getting more than 28-29. The transition from EV to Gas is also very clunky compared to a HEV From Honda of Toyota. I attributed it to the 6 speed transmission vs eCVT which seems like a conventional automatic is not a good match for a HEV for fuel savings. It left me feeling underpowered and waiting for it figure out what gear to go into feeling very "clunky." If you are looking at a HEV I would NOT get a Santa Fe. Personally would just get a Honda or Toyota HEV. Not to mention it depreciated ~ $9,000 in 2 months which does not happen on Toyota or Honda HEV For me I ended up going back to V6 since the vehicle did not preform well and turned me off from owning any other HEV for now.

Hyundai Santa Fe, What an Amazing Vehicle!

We drove a 2022 Hyundai Kona N-Line, another fantastic vehicle! But with 4 Grandkids, we needed a larger vehicle and the Santa Fe provided us the space we needed. We are currently on a multi-state trip. We are experiencing 35-45MPG! It’s an amazing vehicle, lots of resources, plenty of room an amazing vehicle.

My Beautiful Baby

This Santa Fe is cozy with its smooth ride. I love all the bells and whistles, especially the flat phone charging zone. It makes for a perfect space to set drink carriers when I grab dinner for the family. There is a ton of storage. I have the blue exterior with a white/grey interior and she is perdy!! Mighty fine. I named her Marina because she reminds me of the white sand beaches and dark blue ocean water. The seats are comfortable and contour to your body nicely. Favorite features are the self driving button and the lane assist. We love the heads up display so we can keep good posture and maintain the right speed. The side light on the heads up display showing a car approaching from the rear is a nice touch. We got this car to have these tools that allow me to keep driving that doesn’t impact my neck pain. With the features of the camera display on the dash for blind spots I’m able to limit my heads turns and still maintain safety.

Very practical car with excellent tech and a good price point!

Overall very happy with this car. Interior is laid out very practically and has a very good fit and finish. I love tech and this has an excellent array of tech / features. The hybrid powetrain is extremely smooth with a decent amount of pep to it for being a smaller size. Gas milage has been ok for me averaging 30mpg for the first 4k.

Car handles well, little body roll and fun to drive. Upon delivery had issue with washer reservoir emptying. Also intermittent noise from steering column (sounds like chipmunks). Spoke with service, didn’t have service bulletin regarding noise, since intermittent hard to diagnose. Wish driver seat went all the way back when exiting no matter who’s driver. Goes back but depends on driver. After wife drives still to close for easy entry until car started. Would like to be able to set key fob to individual driver. Also smaller fob. Had to settle on purchase. No cars available for what wanted, even if willing to wait months. Wanted calligraphy got limited.

Good Car, Bad Tires and Annoying Features

I bought the Limited version of the Hyundai Santa Fe at the end of November 2025. Overall, I like the car—it’s comfortable, looks great, and drives well. Unfortunately, the tire quality has been very disappointing. After only about 1,000 miles, by mid-February 2026, two tires on the left side developed bubbles on the sidewalls. This is very concerning for such a new vehicle. The dealer and tire manufacturer both refused to cover the issue, so I had to replace all four tires out of pocket, which was an unexpected expense. After doing some research, I found that other Santa Fe owners have reported similar problems with the original tires, so this doesn’t seem like an isolated case. I still like the car, but this issue—and the lack of support—definitely hurt my overall experience. I’d recommend keeping a close eye on the tires or considering replacing them early.

I wanted a new hybrid to drive back and forth to work. My wife took it and I’m driving her (now old) non hybrid vehicle. LOL she did warn me before the purchase this might happen. She loves the car.

Our 2026 Santa Fe Hybrid Review

Wow- small engine but very quick acceleration. Very quiet with little road noise. Very comfortable interior and comfortably holds 7. The electronics are amazing and is very close to being self driving. Overall a great road trip or in city car, camera systems are outstanding and parking is very easy. Highly recommended for everyone. Dual mag charging station is an absolute must!! Once you have it you can’t live without it.
