The perfect mix of reliability, looks, comfort (kinda) and my complete dedication to a fantastic machine
I purchased my 2011 Soul off lease in August of 2012 from Greico Kia in Delray Beach, Florida. I never had any respect for car dealerships I got a wake up call when I got the hots for the Soul I was treated with respect, found the car I was interested in and waged war on comprable prices at other dealers. Got a very, very fair deal, used car with 32Kmiles in perfect, new condition. Car was certified (VERY IMPORTANT!!)
It has never failed me. I put the key in, it starts and I go. I now have 135K miles on it, and it is still like new. Paint is perfect, body is clean inside, and it holds construction tools and hardware, but just a bit too small for my immediate needs.
It has been back to the dealer twice- The AM radio antenna broke, and the horn was under recall for replacement. Greico gave me a loaner car both times.
Perfromance: Ride- Choppy, Noisy, and car make a variable vibration hum at higher speeds, Replaced tires had no effect. Living with it, The newer Souls
have a much better ride and no mystery hums. Reliabilty 10 plus. Never broke down on the road or at home. Failing battery gave plenty of notice- slow starter.
Original brake pads on back, 2nd set of pads on front. Air conditioning sometime too cold, even a slowest speed. Blue tooth best feature, wish I could change voice from Korean english to Brooklyn or something more personal.
Would I recommend this again? Suprisingly no, not for me. Too small, and as Consumer Reports once called the Dodge Neon, a "low rent car", At this point in my life I want to step up to the Honda CR V or the Suzuki Forrester- All three cars have received outstanding reviews in Consumers reports, my car buying bible.
I am sure the new Soul has all the improvements I long for in the ride, but at this point, I can afford to move up. It has been a good friend and made me proud to own it.
