Hello CU community. I went to PDR because I won an offer from a local radio station for a free diagnosis on my truck with $200 toward the repairs. Unfortunately, I will not be going back there or recommending PDR to anyone else. After my diagnosis was completed, the desk clerk told me the diagnosis cost $300 total and the $200 toward repairs had already been used. That just seems shady, which is unfortunate because if I felt like I could trust them not to over charge me, I would have had more work done. They wanted $400 to replace a battery, I know batteries are expensive but that seems high for loosening two bolts and swapping a battery out.

I had a diagnosis done at AutoZone for free before I contacted PDR and they recommended replacing a sensor and wiring harness. The parts brand new would have cost about $150. I should have tried to do the work myself.

PDR had my truck for two days, I rented a car to make sure I could get my kids to activities and go to work. They fixed the problem for now, which I am grateful. Evidently a rodent chewed through ten wires, they sodered them back together, but I wish they would have priced new wires and let me choose which option I wanted. $675 for the repairs plus 3% charge for paying with my card for a total of $695.32. Of that, labor was $599.75 The kicker is, after letting my truck warm up, when I left the business, my transmission acted like it didn’t want to shift. It only happened that one time on the way home so I am hopeful there is nothing wrong with that and the fluid was still cold. I almost turned around, but I didn’t want to accrue more charges from them.

I understand businesses need to make money, but something seems off here and I wish I would have read the Google reviews before I went because I feel like all the one star reviews were how I was treated.

Thank you for soldering my wires, I just wish I didn’t feel this way about my experience and your business. At least now I know that’s not a business I feel comfortable using.
