I love my Element!

Front seats are easy to get in and out of. The car is built high so one has a great view of the road. Fun to drive but definitely not a luxury vehicle - rides like a truck, especially if you're sitting in back. Fabulous adaptable storage space. Easy to clean out. Good mileage. Great on highways AND good over rough roads. Stable in bad and windy weather. Sure wish they still made these! I have a 2005 with low mileage but need replacement front seats.

I love my 2005 Element

My husband has been after me to purchase a new car for the past 5 years. I love my Element and refuse to get rid of it. It has all I want in a vehicle. Tons of cargo space, it's comfortable and no rattles. The only complaint I have is the visibility is not good and I have learned that I have to be extra careful and specially aware of my surroundings. I love the fact that it turns on a dime; a great advantage in parking lots.

My dependable, versatile Element

I have hauled shrubs, plants, mulch, etc with no problems - very easy to clean up interior for transporting people - several trips to the midwest - dependable and comfortable - love the 5 speed manual!

Great Vehicle for around town

Too bad they discontinued it. The box shape and unique seats allow large objects to be accommodated. Fun to drive but a little noisy. Gets about 23 mpg in town as high as 28 for highway cruise. My car has a 5 speed manual that is great to drive but could use a 6th speed (engine turns about 3000 rpm at 60 mph). Versatile, reliable, fun to drive, it's a Honda! Even big guys fit inside but only seats 4. Has the best headlights I've ever had on any car. The EX version includes a 300 watt satellite (XM) radio that is difficult to match even with an after market radio, The doors are weird. Basically a two door but there are two smaller, reverse operating doors that open the sides of the vehicle up making access unbelievable.

The little toaster that could!

Everyone always refers to this vehicle as a toaster. They joke and call it square and ugly. Then I show them what the Element can do and I leave them shocked! With water resistant seats that fold flat into a bed and split to fold up against the sides of the cab, the possibilities are endless! Polyurethane flooring provides easy clean up off whatever may be tracked in. This is no powerhouse with it's 2.5L iVtec but it gets the job done. The ride is stout but the handling is incredible for such a tall vehicle. I would recommend for any adventurer! AWD is an option too!

Pros and Cons

Pro: very practical for my needs..the clam shell doors are a God send as I have an Easy Reach device installed on the passengers side which pivots the seat out and telescopes it down enabling me to place my disabled wife on the seat and bring her up into vehicle. Thus we don,t need an expensive wheel chair van. Also great for hauling trash and an easy clean up. Quite reliable. Cons: dimly illuminated dash, hard or impossible to see during the day..Very poor quality seat material, wears down and tears up fast! Door detents wear down and doors swing out on their own. Could have more power, road stability and gas mileage I guess...My biggest quirk is they don,t make them any more....No replacement at all and the used one are going for a fortune in my area even with high mileage. Is Honda crazy?

2005 Honda Element

We have owned this vehicle since 2008, and when we purchased it he had 70k on the odometer. It now has 238K and still runs strong. We have replaced the AC, Cat Converter, rebuilt the transmission. We have maintained the routine services on the vehicle and it keeps going like the energizer bunny. It's not fast but you can remove the rear seats and use it like a light van. It's a very dependable vehicle.

Love the Element, gas mileage not so good

Love our element and so do our dogs! Lots of leg and head room, love it has no carpet, back seats are removable, high clearance to go over obstacles and is reliable. Downside is it only seats 4 and the gas mileage isn’t good.

Fast On Their Feet

All departments coordinated inspection/repair etc. without one area slowing another down. Work seemed "choreographed" on my car--without prior appt., and fairly busy customer afternoon.

Excellent utility car

2005 Honda Element still running great at over 295,000 miles. As with every Honda I have owned, do routine service as recommended by Honda, and the car keeps on going. Wish the company would make them again!!! Great car for people with dogs.

Excellent and reliable transportation

The Element has been a great car for traveling. It is very roomy (both back seats go up), therefore you are able to pack a lot of stuff in it. It is also very reliable and economical.

Best car ever

My Honda Element is a 2005 and still runs and looks brand new. I can carry almost anything, including a 6 foot long futon and mattress. Actually, I've never bought anything that I couldn't haul in this car. I can also carry 3 20" bikes and 3 kids. or 1-26 Inch bike. A recliner, a China cabinet (fully assembled). Not only do the seats flip up but they also can be removed. Like the title says "Its the best car ever". Pam

Why aren't these made anymore?

I love my car SO much. I will never let it go. I have 196,000 miles on it and it has kept me safe and sound during two wrecks (1) a woman hopped up on pills pulled out from a stop sign right in front of me 2) a suicidal deer ran into the side of my car one night. I love that it has no carpet and my husband and I can haul the dogs around and not feel like we have to vacuum an entire car because of it. Its great for us because we are both tall and the Element has plenty of head room. The suicide doors can be problematic when you're in tight parking spaces and have folks in the backseat needing to get out. Its a little noisy driving on the interstate, but that all pales in comparison to the awesomeness of this vehicle!! HONDA NEEDS TO BRING THEM BACK!

Excellent styling that will stand the test of time.

Superb!! Good on gas, maintenance cost is affordable, it is reliable, fun to drive, my daughter likes to ride with me, because she can see everywhere while in her car seat at the back. The interior design is lovely, spacious and comfortable. The engine has no transmission issues.

Everything I Want, Nothing I Din't Want

The "Elephant" is my daily driver, beast of burden and dog limo. It's a myth that you can hose it out when it get's dirty, but I do clean it out now and then with a broom. But why bother? It's just gonna get dirty again tomorrow! I usually have the back seats folded down with a tarp and a dog bed over them, but I often fold them up and put a couple bikes in back, or haul a load of brush to the disposal site. I bought mine with a hundred thousand miles on it, and at 116k it runs strong and I'd drive it anywhere. With a five speed manual, it's a blast to drive.
