Best car I have owned

The Ionic5 is a great car—comfort, performance, reliability. We have put on over 59,000 miles in a little over 2 1/2 years. It has had almost no repairs needed: just one reprogramming of the charger that cut off occasionally, and one replaced cap on the receiver of the fast-charging port The biggest disappointment is no rear wiper. We live on a gravel road and the dust accumulated so you can’t see out the rear. Same with winter snow. This is a stupid omission that lessens driving safety.

Great All-Round EV SUV

My 2023 Ioniq 5 is stylish, roomy, smooth, and quiet. It has great acceleration and is a blast to drive. It charges very quickly on DC fast chargers that support the 800 volt architecture. The range with the All Wheel Drive SEL model is decent. The maintenance has been very minimal in the first two years of ownership, and I've had only a few minor issues with the vehicle. The lack of software updates over the past year has been a little disappointing. Overall I have been very happy with the Ioniq 5 so far.

Good Vehicle and functional

Good combination of performance and styling. It still is a head turner despite seeing more of them than when I purchased. IMO severe design flaw w/o rear window wiper/cleaner. Cannot see through rear window in inclement weather.

Love it

Car is fantastic, favorite car I’ve ever owned. A few observations- ICCU issue, while I haven’t had da problem it’s concerning to think this is lurking USB ports seem inconsistent Lack of support for push button battery preconditioning and wireless car play - this should be an OTA update

I love my Ioniq 5

This is my first EV and it is wonderful. Great acceleration and handling. Quiet. The EV charging is easy to use. Love the wide display in the center console. Virtually no maintenance. I take it in for an inspection periodically and rotate the tires. Thats it. My only complaint is I have gone through 2 12V batteries in the 2 1/2 years I have owned it.

Great EV but leasing agreement is the worst in the industry.

We loved our Ioniq 5 but made the mistake of leasing it. The lease we found out was non-transferable and we were forced to shell out an additional $5000+ to return the vehicle early

Love my Ionic 5

I've never been a "car person" - into cars. They're something to get me from point A to point B. But I LOVE this car!! It is comfortable, intuitive, easy and FUN to drive! Oh, and I get to feel good about not leaving stinky emissions behind when I drive. Even my husband prefers that we take my car for long trips because it's so comfortable, both for the driver AND the passenger.

Almost perfect

Early challenges fixed over time (due to software and hardware fixes); 2025 improvements aligned with user feedback (addition of a rear wiper and buttons to control heated/cooled seats). Not disappointed with this EV. Grateful for Hyundai's effort to be leaders in EV technology and willing to go through some learning curves together to get there.

Flawless car.

What else is there to know? It drives wonderfully. Truly the only negatives are the fear of ICCU failure, and that the 12v battery can degrade quickly. I have not had these problems personally. If Hyundai would take care of these issues, it would truly be the perfect car.

A pretty good car!

Overall, I really like this car. It is probably the most responsive and fun to drive car I've driven, which is surprising given its size. Quality is good, but with too many interior squeaks and rattles; they are more noticeable in a quieter car.
