Awesome car, loved it!

I was waiting for the Ioniq 6 to come out, and when they did I had the first one SEL AWD off the boat in my city. Awesome car, great looks, superb handling, very comfortable, love the Eco/Normal/Sport settings in case I want to be thrifty with range. This car is one of the few cars on the marks with a range over 300 miles, and the others are for the most part much more expensive cars made by makers like Lucid or Rivian. I drove this car for three years on a lease - I would have bought it out from the lease only the value drops so much on many electric vehicles (including this one) that I would have to pay more to buy the car out of the lease than what it is now worth. I could buy a used one with a third the mileage for that same price. So sad to see it go, but I love cars so I am always dreaming about what's next. There's a reason why Car and Driver awarded this the best electric car of 2023. During those three years I spent $0 on gas and $0 on maintenance. I did have to take it to the dealership several time for them to check on recall issues, but nothing that ever meant me leaving the car overnight. I did replace the tires at 24K miles because one got a nail in one and the tread on the others was getting low. That hurt a bit because even with them sale those tires are expensive and I didn't realize that the heavier electric cars eat through tires quicker than a regular car. But they are Pirelli tires, and they help the car handle so beautifully! I marked the comfort down a couple of points because it would have been nice if the passenger seat was powered and not manual adjust, but I understand they were saving on weight (for range) and expenses (for overall price point). Love the automatically opening trunk, with push button close and lock. Loved the phone app so I could all my car and start it to cool it down before I got in it on hot summer days or to warm it up on cold winter days. Or I could call it and lock it if I forgot to lock it while I was at work - the app would send me a message if my car was unlocked. Awesome! I marked a few points down for build quality because some of the panel gaps are not even, and one of the inset door handles is off enough that occasionally it would get snagged on the door body and not open. But inside the car is gorgeous, I was always changing colors on the interior panels to surprise my little girl who loved my car, we named it our Silver Six!

Love my Ioniq Sport 6 - it is smooth riding and so easy to handle - Has great pick up and slow down - rarely have to use the breaks when set at level 3- charging is simple

A fun car to drive!

I loved my Ioniq 6, and I was sad to return the lease. However the value of the vehicle was significantly less than the residual, so it made no sense to keep it. It was fun to drive. I have zero complaints in that department. The technology is outstanding. The range is outstanding. I wasn't crazy about the amount of plastic inside. Other than that, I have zero complains.

Love the design and the driving experience for the most part.

Most of my frustration with the car comes from the software. 1, Battery conditioning: If you make any changes, please make this one a priority. A battery conditioning button is needed. Driving this car in the cold gives me a lot of anxiety. This should’ve been a 5-star car, but the amount of hassle and anxiety caused by the missing battery conditioning button makes it a 2-star experience instead. I won't recommend this car to anyone until the button is added. Also, please let me use the navigation apps I want; the built-in map is terrible to use. 2, Climate start: When using climate start, all my settings reset. It’s extremely annoying to turn off the passenger AC/heat, turn down the fan, and toggle air circulation every single time. And I still can’t turn on the heated seats through the app. 3, Android Auto / Apple CarPlay: Please include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Why does a $55k car not have either of these? 4, Cargo and interior design: The trunk is so small that it’s barely useful, and the frunk has no practical use at all for me. The interior door handles also don’t look great. 5, Auto-lock: If the car can notify me that it’s unlocked, it should just auto-lock. 6, Digital key: The digital key is convenient, but it takes too long to unlock and start the car. Because of this, I end up carrying the physical key most of the time.

Responsive engine with a comfortable ride

Electric battery provides reliable power, comfortable ride. Acceptable mileage range on full charge. The car has roomy interior for passengers or goods. Dashboard basics are easy to use. Lacks a good GPS. Computer updates should be available via Bluetooth rather than at service appointments. The 12 volt battery can be drained down leaving driver stranded. Encourage updates and fixes for these problems.

Good car, but could be better

I love most of the features of this car. The styling and performance especially. What really is a bummer is the lack of wireless CarPlay and the mediocre stereo. The sound quality is awful and it takes away from an otherwise great driving experience. I also noticed the uneven hood placement on my car. the hood lays slightly over the right side of the car. The was used as a corporate vehicle for the Hyundai dealership before they sold it to me. I would hope that if it was in n accident, it would have showed up on the Carfax...

Wonderful EV Sedan

I have test driven several EV’s over the years and the Ioniq 6 was the best by far. Comfort, range, amenities, performance, style, warranty and pricing were all competitive or even best in class. It drives and handles superbly and I love that while it has a modern look and interior, it isn’t in the minimalist camp of some EV’s. Range is as advertised or better and it’s sporty, but comfortable ride is amazing. I have the middle trim AWD model and lots to enjoy. Three things I’d change - more headroom in the back, wireless Bluetooth for CarPlay and mirrors that fold in as an option.
