Handles Great, Though MPG Deceeases Over Time
I absolutely love my 2013 Sonata Limited Hybrid. Under 50,000 miles and in normal-light traffic, I would get 42 mpg and babying it, I would get 45-47 mpg. However, as it has aged my mpg has gotten a little less with my max (babying it) around 40-42, and my regular mpg at about 35-37. In-town at about 30-32mpg which isn’t bad but isn’t hybrid mileage.
Now for the handling. I replaced the tires with Yokohama tires and the ride is quite smooth with a little road noise. The sound system is pretty good - excellent for its year - and all of the electronics function fabulously at 60,000 miles.
It did need some extended warranty work (sunroof assembly) and I had to replace the shark fin antenna because rhe XM radio module went bad. Other than that, for a sedan; the car drives very sporty and it looks beautiful. It’s a good family car, too, with the rear air controls, drop down cup holder and more! I’ve driven the newer Elantra (2017) and Nissan Altima (2018). The Elantra has more responsive handlijg (slightly) but wasn’t my Limited - for sure. The Altima had a better stereo system and a smoother ride but handled like a Cadillac or a truck and was far from responsive.
I just LOVE my car!!!! I’ll be sad when I have to replace it in a few years!
