HYUNDAI VELOSTER TURBO

GREAT LITTLE CAR WITH JUST THE REAR WINDOW ISSUE LETTING FOLLOWING CARS HEADLIGHTS IN TO MUCH. A MORE TINTED REAR WINDOW WOULD GREATLY HELP.

almost got it

I had an issue immediately when I got my car, with the AC not working. I am still not happy with the fan and vents but am told it is what it is. I am also not happy that the tow hook plug does not line up even with the grill. cosmetic, but a big deal to me. I also find the lights not sufficient in the rain. I will be looking to purchase brighter lamps in hopes for better visibility. other that being that picky, I LOVE the car. MPG is great. interior is comfortable and convenient. the get up and go is there when I need it. I am more happy with the car than not.

From Reflex to Turbo

I had a 2000 Tiburon that I enjoyed. The reason I purchased the 2015 Veloster Reflex was due to the fact that I wanted another two door car and the Veloster gave the driver that feeling. However, the looks and feel were great, but it always felt slow. The 2016 Turbo version with the 7 speed transmission is enjoyable to drive.

2016 Veloster Turbo 6MT Matte Gray Style/Tech Package

A zippy small hatch with good gas mileage, plenty of cool features, and fun daily driver. It looks for sportier than it performs on track course however. This Veloster smoked the new 2017 Toyota 86 pocket rocket in a real world shootout last month in a wide open straight line test. Banked $4,500 saving in going with the Veloster. The Toyota 86 had far superior suspension and cornering agility.

Unique, but needs more power

These vehicles are definitely not your average looking ride. Very unique style and capabilities are contained within. People are always asking me what kind of car it is and are surprised to know Hyundai makes it. Layout of controls and features is efficient and design is quite eye catching. But unless you opt for the turbo, the power lag is very noticeable. The vehicle hesitates at times when you need it to get up and go. It hasn't been a big deal so far, but there may come a time when it will be. Overall it is is a compelling ride and time will tell how it will shake out.

It needs too be longer and a four doors, hatchback for families and a two door and hatchback for more sporty type.

Pretty Happy!

I'd eyed the Veloster a couple of years ago and always hoped to have one. Last year that became a reality. I didn't get the color I wanted, but I got the next best one and the price was amazing. I was given a generous trade-in and the process was very easy at Faulkner Hyundai. I'm not crazy about the rear window - it took some getting used to with the spoiler half-way through the glass; and, I wish I'd been able to find a model with leather seats - the one I have has cloth seats, which after only 5,000 are beginning to pucker. But, all things considered, those are the ONLY two things I have to say against it! The mileage is great, love my new SiriusXM, the car zips around town AND is great on long trips, there's plenty of room for me (I'm 6'2") in the front or back, and it has ample storage in the trunk. Okay, an it's also a really hot little car to look at!

If only it performed as well as it looks

The Veloster is a pretty good sporty looking car. The tech in the car is great, It's fun to drive, gets pretty good mileage and looks more expensive then it was. The only down side is the "get up and go" I've never owned a 4 cyl car before but the car just doesn't have the pep and punch of other sporty models. My wife's Mazda CX5 suv has better "off the starting line" performance. Maybe the turbo model is better then mine but I've heard they lag at takeoff too.

Love my Little Blue!

I purchased this car in a time of need and never had thought I would purchase something brand new but I am so glad I did! I had done my research, a few test drives, and when I slid into the Rally Edition 5speed Veloster I knew that was the car for me! The bucket seats hug you while you are turning corners at fast speeds "to merge onto the highway"! I need that pick up and the Veloster gives it to you and more! It is pretty smooth! The sleek exterior is great I love dropping off my kids at school and the lane attendant cannot figure out where the third door is, that is a perk! The space is amazing, my mate that is 6"3' can fit in the passenger seat comfortable, while my kids are in the backseat. Not only can large men fit inside, I have stuffed that car full of boxes that most of my co worker said would never fit and Little Blue proved them wrong! I also love the color hence the name little blue she is my little NY Giants fan car! I saw the blue and was like sweet and then I opened the door and was blown away with the red leather/upholstery interior, it is HOT! The gas mileage is pretty good! Overall, I love this car and want to keep it for a very long time!

Hyundai Veloster Turbo Year 1

I think this is a great little Hatchback and I have recommended this car to others. There are a couple of things I would like to see upgraded on future models, and those items are. A more powerful 3rd engine option to put it more at parody with the GTI and Focus RS. Adjustable ride control option. Higher end stereo options. With that said, dollar for dollar the Veloster Turbo is a great value. I would love to see a version that could get 0 - 60 closer to 5 seconds.
