Nearly perfect vehicle

Only a few slight changes would make this a perfect vehicle. Charges lightning fast, is super roomy inside, and has most amenities one could want.

Great driving experience with some frustrations

The car is powerful, responsive, and fun to drive. 10 out of 10 for driving experience. The lack of Wireless Apple Carplay was frustrating and confusing. We bought a wireless adapter that worked pretty well, but found out later that it drained the car battery, and needed to be removed when not driving. For an EV with a great screen and user interface, that missing feature was confusing. Best user interface of a car I have ever seen though. Clean, simple, easy to navigate, and a clear and bright screen. The interior of the car is made from pretty cheap plastic, and you see this a bit on the outside of the car as well. Toward the end of the second year we had it, we started to really notice the plastic fading in color, and wearing down rapidly. The seats were also not going to hold up well over time. The sound system left a lot to be desired. The lack of a rear windshield wiper was annoying. The salesman told us that the design would wash the water off, but it built up water and dirt so quickly. It felt really dangerous to drive in the winter because you could barely see out the back.

Great driving car, a few issues

I wish the infotainment system was upgradable, ICCU concerns, truck and seat belt rattle noise. Love the look and drive of the car.

In love!

I love my first EV! I have a Limited trim and it has every feature I want. I really enjoy driving this every time I’m inside. At 34k miles, I’m just about problem free so far. I’ve had it for 20k miles now and the only maintenance was tire rotations. The exterior design is great. The ride comfort is one of the best I’ve had. I love that DCFC charging is so quick.

Perfect Daily Commuter

Ioniq5 is a stellar car. The speed, sleek interface, spacious interior, and cool futuristic design are top notch. If I had to pick things to be improved - I'd like the range to be higher, but that already seems to be featured in upcoming versions, and slightly improving the material quality of interior - there are certain areas in the inside of the door that are easy to scratch. Other than that, there are no complaints I can think of. Excellent vehicle!

2024 Ioniq 5

Leased the 2024 Ioniq 5 limited for 2 years. Was satisfied enough to lease a 2026 Ioniq 5 limited for 3 years. A disappointment with the 2026 Ioniq 5 limited is it arrived on day one with the rear view mirror camera was not working. After a month and a half it still has not been fixed and is not working. Have been waiting for a part over 4 weeks.

Comfort and Charging

My Ioniq 5 is a great car. It is very comfortable car for my daily commute. I have also taken my Ioniq 5 on several road trips. The DC fast charging for this car is amazing. There have been times where I plug into the charger and go grab food and it ends up charging past the intended 80% as we took longer eating than it took to charge.

A reliable, functional car.

The IIoniq 5 does everything a car should do. It has been trouble free over the first 2 years of ownership with the exception of needing to replace the starter battery.

Nice EV

Overall this is a very nice EV. The ride is firm (and aggravates my wife’s pain from her past spinal fractures), so much so that we changed the wheels and tires to provide a softer ride, albeit at very slightly worse economy. Also we find the passenger seat low and are unable to raise it as high as we would like.I love the autopedal, and wish that it could be pre-selected by default. We have not been able to make Apple CarPlay work over Blutooth but it works OK over the wired connection. We had 12V battery and battery charging issues in the first year, and had to have both a new battery and a new charging control unit. These are very minor gripes. We love the interior flat floor in front of the front seats, a very useful bit of design.
