Well developed technology

I had a limited so it was top of the line. Every detail was well thought out. I had a special deal to lease one year. Too bad I couldn't afford it and too bad the consumer incentives were terminated.

Ioniq 5 2024

The 2024 IONIQ 5 is an overall comfortable, well appointed vehicle, however, it is marketed as an SUV but has the height of a sedan. Additionally, the turn radius is limited making it awkward to navigate tight spaces, curves, and turns. The driver assistance features can be unnerving when driving on curvy roads.

So far flawless and the most onfortable car for me ever

While I am aware of ICCU/12 volt issues for some my 2024 Ioniq% SEL RWD has been flawless and needed no maintenance other than washer fluid and new windshield wipers since I leased it in December 2024. I charge mostly on Level 2 that is free to me at work or AirBnB. It is The most comfortable car to drive and ride in that I have ever owned, full stop. In the Central Valley of CA we do not need AWD,so RWD has been perfectly fine and plenty fast enough and the decreased complexity of drive-train and slightly greater range are pluses. On road trips within CA I have DC Fast charged exclusively at EA which for the first 2 years have been free. This vehicle is a charging monster and it usually charges before I am finished taking a rest stop. I actually prefer that mine has CCS rather than NACS because it charges faster at EA and works with my existing Level 2 EVSE. I have purchased an A2Z NACS to CCS adaptor but have yet to need or use it. I do carry a lithium booster battery just in case the 12v goes dead - which I have experienced in another EV and a PHEV, neither of them this platform. I did purchase an after-market rear wiper but rarely use it as it does not have washer function. I would not buy this after market Gecko-wiper again but would likely upgrade to Limited for my next lease or purchase for reasons of style and a few minor conveniences. In Dallas we also on a VW ID4 and I prefer its styling to the retro hatch style of the Ionic5 but all of the function I prefer to the Ionic 5. Of coarse Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I do wish that Hyundai would permanently fix the ICCU issue for everyone so that it is not a constant worry. I do use Better Blue app to keep tabs on the 12v battery and so far so good. I prefer the styling of the Ioniq6, BTW, but need the cargo room of the Ioniq5.

I LOVE IT!

I never even considered a Hyundai or a gray car or an SUV until I saw my Iconic 5. It was love at first sight! I feel so much safer not going to the gas station as a woman alone. The information panel is so helpful for someone who knows nothing about cars. The pick up is great! The one problem I had was when I loss power while driving in evening traffic. Scary. Computer needed to be replaced. It was done and there have been no other issues.

12V battery deaths ruined it

Had to jump the 12V battery at least 100 times. Would’ve been a great car if not for the repeated ICCU problems (even after I got it replaced!).

Excellent Experience, with some bumps

We leased our 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 due to the existing owner and industry reviews, the lease/purchase value, and the interior space (we need a backseat with leg and headroom). The car performs well, is fun to drive, and has excellent styling. Our ICCU needed replacement which took a significant amount of time. I would recommend this and other electric vehicles from Hyundai with the hope their turnaround in servicing them improves.
