Rear wheel problem

I damaged a rear hub lug that holds the wheel on. It cost $1,248.76 to fix. That is a problem.

2025 IONIQ 5 - Nice Ride

This is the most comfortable and quiet car that I have owned. For the most part a joy to drive. Efficient on power consumption KW/Mile. The vehicle does suffer from crazy issues that are not seen in my other vehicles. 1.) Walk away locking. I am not sure if this is my issue but no matter what I try, the vehicle will not lock when walking away. Must physically touch the vehicle or use the BlueLink application. This concerns me as sometimes the vehicle will not lock/or unlock using the door switch. I use my phone as my passkey for the vehicle and there are some issues with this. One time I had poor internet connectivity (or something) and had to call my wife and have her unlock the vehicle. It took about 10 minutes to get the vehicle to unlock. While this all worked out and I made it to my appointment it could have been bad. This needs to be addressed. I have also had issues with Blue Link locking me out of using the app. I had to call customer service and it took them a couple of days to resolve. Again I am lucky this happened at home where I had a spare key fob and was not dependent on my phone and Blue Link for access. In my mind this is a real problem. 2.) Driver Assist; There are some real issues with this when using in mountain and twisty terrain. I had several issues when climbing the Siskiyou Mountains where the adaptive cruise control gets mixed up on the undulating roads where the radar is being bounced off of either the pavement or road lane barriers, however I have not figured out how to set the cruise control for a specific speed. I did find a maximum speed function but that was beyond worthless where it would jump in and out of this mode and the car would take off beyond the maximum speed set. The most concerning issue is when the vehicles radar gets mixed up and just pulls the foot off the accelerator and slows down abruptly. In one situation I had a vehicle behind me when the adaptive cruise just shut down because of a curve in the road and I almost got hit. This needs to be addressed.

SEL Trim Good But Not Great

This car is fun to drive - the power train is so smooth. It handles well around town and seems to have good turn-in at slower speeds. The SEL trim is missing some things that I had expected: memory seats, ability to fold down rear seats from the cargo area, non-padded door panels. In addition, the ride quality is pretty harsh - going over bumps is telegraphed into the cabin more than it should. The car shift "knob" is hidden behind the steering wheel. After buying the car and joining some online Facebook groups, I have begun to worry about ICCU issues (a lot).

Fun to drive and comfy to ride in

This is my first all-electric vehicle and the performance is what I expected. Excellent acceleration and handling. Seats are comfortable, and controls are clear. The only thing that I don't love is the turning radius, but it's a wide car, and I chose the XRT package with the big tires, so it makes sense.

25 Ioniq 5 Limited

We had been interested in having a full electric vehicle. We had a plug-in hybrid (Toyota Prius Prime) but I felt that it was wrong to be dragging an engine and a gas tank around. We did a lot of research and I had been thinking of going with a Tesla but for the politics. An then I started looking a bit more serious at the Ioniq 5. My wife really doesn't like to drive, so we had to be careful in the vehicle selection. We went to the local Hyundai dealership and gave the Ioniq 5 a test drive. I did enjoy driving the car but so did my wife. We decided to lease it for two years because we didn't want to buy due to depreciation. We are also concern about upgrades in technology - such as batteries. We have now had the car for four months and just about every time we drive it, we either find something new that just works so well or it's just fun to drive. My favorite feature is the heads-up display - everything is just there in front of me. It's great. We recommend this vehicle to everyone who asks about it.
