2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SEL AWD

Overall, my Hyundai IONIQ 5 is a great car. I'm loving the idea of not spending $$$ on gas fill-ups. I enjoy the quietness of the vehicle, the quickness, and the many different features. We purchased the car new, and so far have not had any issues. The charging at home on the 240 volt charger has not really affected our electric bill at all. And when charging at a fast charge station, the amount of money spent is way cheaper than filling our previous gas vehicle. It does take some adjustment when it comes to checking your percentage of charge left. I keep a close eye on that and gage my charging on any future trips I may have to make. But overall, the car has exceeded my expectations. This is our first EV, and we're both loving it.

Many improvements in 2026 Ioniq 5

Since the 2023 Ioniq 5, which I loved, there have been many improvements in the 2026, including upgrades in safety features, visability, and range. My mst pressing complaints are in the NASC charging port since most Tesla chargers are not yet user-friendly for non-Teslas, and the driving screens are difficult to see in direct sun.

A good ev

As a total package, the car performs very well, given the fact that the form and function fits well in this SUV segment. The driving dynamics are very good but not great. The power/ performance is good but not great. The interior controls and screen functions well, but I find it a bit of a learning curve, more so than with other EVs, but as time progresses it becomes easier to navigate. Things that I wish it had like a better space under the trunk floor, large enough for a carry on luggage, as well as a deeper frunk space. I find that it’s possible that have a deeper frunk space, I can see a good amount of air space below where that compartment ends. A space that is similar to a Tesla Model Y would be good. The center console is wonderful, especially where it can can slide forward and back. Overall the interior feels great, never cramped and the view outward is excellent.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited 20267

I love my car! It has all the safety and driver-assistance features I was looking for. The camera view displayed in the rearview mirror is amazing and makes it much easier to see what's behind the vehicle. One of my favorite features is the head-up display, which projects important information onto the windshield. It's especially helpful when using Google Maps because the navigation directions appear directly in front of you, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road instead of looking down at the screen. I also really appreciate the ventilated seats, especially during the hot California summers. They make a huge difference in comfort and are one of my favorite features. The interior is incredibly spacious compared to the previous cars I've owned, and the overall design and features give it the feel of a luxury vehicle. Like most EVs, it's generally recommended to charge the battery to about 80–85% for everyday driving to help preserve battery life. If you need to use a public charging station, charging to that level typically takes about 1½ hours, depending on the charger. At home, with a Level 2 charger installed, I simply plug it in at night, and it's usually fully charged in about 6 hours. I've owned the car for two months now, and everything has worked exactly as it should. I hope it continues to be just as reliable for many years to come. In fact, one of my sons is now thinking about getting one too!

Almost perfect

Love the vehicle. Only complaint is leg room for the driver because of odd trim decisions. We also have a Hyundai Tucson which does not have the same issue.

What a Great Vehicle.

Love our Ioniq 5. Smooth, mostly quiet, good combo of screen and dials for ez operation. I do have concerns based on the many owners who have had ICCU issues. Would love to know what Hyundai is doing to correct this issue and what as an owner of a 2026 I can do to prevent it…if that’s objectively possible. So that is the main issue that keeps me from taking a long trip. It charges so well and is Fun to drive.

Don’t Love It

This vehicle is not one I love enough to keep. It will have to do for now. If given an opportunity to upgrade to the limited, I would do it. Too many features not included on the 5.
