2023 Hyundai Santa FE review

Overall this vehicle will meet our daily needs of around town. I would not take it on a long trip as it is not that comfortable and some of the controls are very annoying and distracting. Make sure that you understand all the controls. Had I known you cannot turn off the smart cruise control, I never would have purchased the vehicle

Seat Comfort Issues

The overall vehicle looks and handles great. The major issue is that my wife cannot sit in the vehicle for more than 30 minutes without having her tailbone becoming incredibly iritated. When we bought the vehicle, we thought the hardness of the seats would likely soften as we broke them in, but this isn't the case. Everything else on the vehicle is great, but we are now considering taking likely a $12k-$18k financial loss for having to either trade the vehicle in or sell it and buy another new one. Not what we were hoping to have happen

I'm not that happy!

I'm not happy about the fuel economy of this hybrid vehicle. I bought this new vehicle on 19th of October 2023. During the first month my fuel economy was 34/33 miles per gallon. But during the second month it drastically dropped to 31-30 miles per gallon. I drown on the same roads and same driving conditions. I use myHyundai website to do remote start of the vehicle. First few times it did work. But not any more. The request goes from my phone. But it does not receive by the vehicle.

Hybrid mileage on highway is poor

I got 20 mpg on a recent trip, and I did have a headwind. I did not expect such poor mileage. I considered a different vehicle but had difficulty due to low inventory in my region. I found this car online but it was i transit so I did not get to test drive this specific vehicle prior to purchasing. I did drive this model with different features.

Nice car

Nice riding vehicle,lot of features, navigation isn’t top of the line, and if your using it for long trips front seats become quite uncomfortable,, around town and short trips they are ok. Door locks are a bit fussy and frustrating to use till you get use to them

Nice vehicle, service experience iffy

I like the car- but my latest service experience at dealer has left me disappointed Took a month to get an appointment for oil change, took 6,5 hours to complete, they lied about tire rotation. Claim that complimentary maintenance means I pay for every other oil change. And they can’t clearly tell me at what interval I need it

Car is good ! Not services

The car is really nice but we had an issue with the hybrid system. Dealership did not find the issue despite we left the car 2 days. Then we got stuck in the highway during vacation and we had a really bad experience with the warranty services. It took 5 months to close the case (with back and forth emails) and we were not paid what we were told.

I should have kept my Subaru or bought a new one. The HYUNDAI has more features, but most use outdated technology and some don't work. To make matters worse, HYUNDAI has no fix for the features that don't work

Poor initial reliability

Upon delivery, bluelink would not work. Dealer could not get it to work. Several times the hybrid battery level went to 0. Infotainment system slow and unresponsive. Had a turbo boost failure. All within first month. Vehicle was at dealer for 2 weeks for repairs.

Early Problems

Replaced a 2021 SF Hybrid that had ecu problems with this 2023 SF Hybrid. Total brake failure at 3350+ miles. Been at dealer for 30 days so far with no information as to what is to be fixed or when. Poor communications.

Not what I expected from a hybrid vehicle

I got this vehicle because what I really wanted was not yet available. I was led to this by my spouse, a 2 time former owner of a Santa Fe, but have been totally disappointment with the purchse of this thus far. Hybrid gas mileage is poor for what I thought I would be getting, and the overall power is rather low. Maybe I should have waited just a little longer for what I wanted. Too late now.

Cannot get out of first gear; maintenance at dealership is unreliable

Six times so far , and with 13,000 miles, the car cannot get out of first gear after a full stop. Correction requires pulling over in traffic, turning the car completely off, and then restarting. Hyundai's "free" scheduled maintenance was not provided for the first oil change because the dealership was making reservations no earlier than 6 weeks into the future. So the free maintenance, not provided by Hyundai, ended up costing me $200 out of pocket at an independent shop. Later, scheduling maintenance for the inability to shift gears was a one-week wait. Then, on the scheduled day, they didn't have time to run diagnostics, so they did that on day 2. Day 3 and looking into the future, they still have the car, and hope to work on it sometime soon.

I was sold a defective new Santa Fe that was known about and they keep saying it a IPhone problem I don’t care I just want it fixed by the person that sold the vehicle to me

I have a vehicle that I can’t use because I can’t use the phone as a DAV I must have a phone that I can talk with the VA . The people know of the problem but blame the I phone. iPhone didn’t sell me the vehicle Hyundai did

Parking brake engages

Unsafe on the road. While driving, the parking brake engages by itself. It has been at dealership garage longer than I have driven it. Hyundai USA case number 20866603 escalated. I have not had a case manager contact me not once not at all. Neither has the dealership garage contacted me. I need another new hybrid limited AWD SUV.

Very bad experience. Apple Carplay and Touchscreen display is not working properly and Hyundai released the vehicle into market. Hyundai dealership also selling the vehicles with problems to Customers.

Creaky/squeaky seat

The car sounds like it is about to fall apart. Something under the driver’s seat creaks like stepping on a loose floorboard every time I make a turn, accelerate, decelerate, or go over speed bumps. I don’t know how sturdy my seat is if I am ever in an accident. Also don’t know how long it will stand up to the automatic memory setting. The noise started after less than a week and they have not been able fix it after multiple tries. And corporate is no help either. Based on my experience I would steer clear of this car and company.

Nice car but squeaky. Very annoying. Can't get the dealer to fix it after a month. I most likely will have to hire an attorney and declare it a lemon seeing as I can't get the dealer to return a call or text

Brandon Hyundai sold me a lemon

Brandon Hyundai sold me a lemon. Their customer service sucks. I had to nag and beg for any ETA information on repairs. The dealership stuck me with a downgrade for a loaner. I was without my vehicle for over three months. Customer service was non-existent. Couldn't get anyone to answer the phone or call me back for status of my vehicle. Buying this vehicle was the biggest disappointment ever.
