Love the car but gas mileage is bad

I really love the vehicle for the most part. It drives great. The technology is very good and the overall comfort is great. There are two very major things that detract from what could be an awesome car. The first one is a lack of a spare tire. I came very close to not buying a Hyundai just because you did not offer a spare tire. Where I drive a spare tire is mandatory and I can’t understand why you would not put a spare tire in. The second and most major issue with the car is the poor gas mileage at highway speeds. I have driven over 8000 miles on the highway and I’ve never got above 30 miles per gallon. Most of the time it’s between 26 and 28. The car is rated at 35 and I don’t know how in the world you got that. I’m also going to notify whatever government agency overseas this and let them know the discrepancy. I get great gas my life in town and that slow highway speeds 65 and below, but I live out west and the speed limit is 80 and it’s tough to even get 30 miles per gallon out of the vehicle. The other issues that I’m very surprised his car does not have is a back up warning alarm. It has a very nice camera, but I could back right into something and there’s no beeps or anything to warn me. I really love the vehicle, but it just has a couple of pretty big drawbacks that prevent me from giving it a great rating.

Love my hybrid Tucsan

I love this car. There are so many safety features that it is the safest feeling car I have ever owned. The lane centering device, is my favorite. I'm enjoying the hybrid aspect although I don't seem to be getting the 32mph gas mileage that it suggests...I'm getting more like 27-29mph. Still better than any car I've owned. The interior is unique with its cured dash screen--very streamline--not looking like the iPad dash screens of so many other cars. This car is comfortable and has checked more boxes than I could hope for. My only issue is with the locking and unlocking of the car. The unlock touch handle works easily-in one try. However the unlock touch handle seems to have an issue. It takes several times of touching the handle to get it to unlock. I'm sure it can easily fixed but just haven't had it in to the shop to be looked at. Otherwise, its the best car EVER.

Love the car - a few odd things missing that you need to uprade to limited trim level to get - homelink, passenger side auto seat controls. and I don't understand why there is not a USB port that accommodates slightly older USB cords

I absolutely love my car!

I absolutely love my car! I love everything about my car. The safety features, gas mileage, and technology are amazing. HOWEVER, THE FACT THAT IT DOES NOT COME WITH A SPARE TIRE IS A CRIME. How greedy have car manufacturers and dealerships become that they won’t even include an essential, once automatic safety measure anymore??? I got a flat tire literally 1 week after purchasing my car and I had no idea that I didn’t have a spare tire. I was so disappointed to find only a fix-a-flat kit in my trunk because I had a complete blowout, so that couldn’t help me at all. I was stuck in the cold waiting for a ride because of this. And then I didn’t have my vehicle back for almost a whole week because they didn’t have any tires in stock. Mind you, I have the tire protection plan . I’m sure that’s more of an issue with the dealership itself, but if the car came with a spare tire in the first place, I would’ve never been stuck in that situation to begin with.

After one year

I have had my Hyundai Tucson 2025 for a little bit over a year now. These are my main dislikes: 1) 12V seems to lose charge very quickly if the car is not driven regularly. This means I cannot use the key fob to open the car, not even by touching the door handle. The battery shuts itself down and you have to use the restart battery button inside the car to activate it. The app is useless to start the car remotely when this happens also. Very annoying in cold weather if you can't drive your car every day to keep the battery from doing this. You have to walk to the car and use the physical key to open it. I found out by accident that when this happens, I can open the trunk, this activates the console briefly so I can go to the driver door and open the door touching the door handle, then I can start the car. I think this is a hack not a feature of the vehicle as it is not mentioned anywhere in the manual. Terrible! 2) It does not come with a spare tire! This was not mentioned when I was looking at the vehicle to purchase it. The car comes with a "Tire mobility kit" which is basically a fix a flat. This is not a replacement for a spare tire. The tire mobility kit does not work in all flat tire situations, like if your tire is damaged on the side wall for example. This is an expense of about $500. Very dangerous not to have a spare tire in bad weather and especially when you found out until you get a flat tire and try to use the spare. 3) The phone button on the steering wheel is very inconveniently placed, unless your hands are strictly at 10 and 2 you will keep hitting this button constantly when you don't mean to. I figure this is worse with 9 and 3 hand positions which is now the recommended way of driving. 4) The audio controls are on the right-hand side of the steering wheel. I find this extremely inconvenient as I'm right-handed and this interferes with the maneuverability of the car. Maybe this is a personal preference, but it feels awkward to try to use audio controls to move forward/back in songs and to control the volume with the right hand while driving. 5) There doesn't seem to be a way to save the preferred driving mode (Eco, Sport, Snow). So, once you turn the car off it defaults back to Eco. You have to select your driving mode EVERY TIME you start the car if you want to change it to anything other than Eco. Unacceptable in a car with this much technology. You should be able to save your preferred driving mode. 6) The notifications in the app focus on trivial things like for example, constantly telling me that the washer fluid is low unless I refill it. By constantly I mean every 5 mins literally. It also tells me if the doors are unlocked, this is good. However, if I leave my door wide open for hours the app won't bother to let me know of this! not so good, in fact pretty bad!
