A/C Service From Fred's Wrenchouse Has Me Feeling Relaxed, Cool And Happy.
Another great repair from Fred's Wrenchouse...
The Air Conditioning in our 2008 Honda Element wasn't keeping up with the heatwave temperatures, so I unwisely tried a cannister of A/C Recharge from the local O'reilly's Auto Parts. If I'd had a leak, it might have worked temporarily until it all leaked out again.
But it didn't have a leak, and I over-pressurized the system, had some improvements in lower temps, but the engine was under strain when the A/C Compressor kicked on, but I'd made a mistake and needed Fred's help.
I do most of my own Auto Repairs, but I know when to call in the Pro's when it's over my head or I don't have the specialized equipment needed...like in an A/C repair where the diagnosis of the system and capture of the ozone-depleting excess refrigerant is involved.
The good news was that the A/C System was functioning, but was way overcharged (my fault). They placed the A/C System under vacuum after sucking out the old refrigerant, then added new refrigerant and a visible dye to be able to detect leaks in the system if they occur in the future.
Those specialized skills and knowledge are built up over a lifetime as a Mechanic, and that's what I pay for, and I know it's done right at Fred's. If I'd gone to a Honda Dealer I'd be looking at a bill at least twice what I paid at Fred's or more. But I'd experience shiny floors and a warm cookie at the end of my wallet-draining visit...because I was funding those features with my bill payment.
Was it cheap? No, but it was a very fair price, the A/C blows cold and the load on my engine from the A/C Compressor decreased making it more peppy as a side benefit. They explained everything they learned about the problem, how they fixed it...and they stand behind their work.
They don't talk you into unnecessary repairs with lots of labor involved, but let you know what needs to be done and nothing more. And usually there's a few other fixes done that I didn't even request = value added.
Trust is very hard to find these days, especially in an Internet Era of Avatars, Catfishing, Online Misrepresentation, Blatant Lies, etc., where your only recourse for being deceived is the legal system which grinds slowly and not always fairly.
If you want honest, skilled, experienced, auto repairs at a place you can trust, with confidence in your vehicle being roadworthy and safe again...head to Fred's Wrenchouse and experience anxiety-free relief.
