Very disappointed
I am very disappointed with this vehicle. My 2018 Elantra was much better...
1) The car has to warm up to drive semi normal...THE FUEL INJECTED CAR HAS TO WARM UP....UNREAL.
(The car will lunge forward when cold almost seeming to not shift gears properly as if it has a transmission problem).
2) The body parts (hood, lights, etc) are not installed evenly. One side has a bigger gap than the other. My 2018 was cheaply assembled also..
3) The driver seatbelt tangles on release EVERYTIME and won't retract. (1st car EVER, I've had this issue with).
4) The driver seat cushion/filling has been falling out since new, all over my floorboard.
5) Occasionally while pressing the brake pedal, the car will hesitate/stumble 3-4 times and then the brakes seem to release and the car LUNGES forward.
6) Occasionally while pressing the gas pedal from a dead stop, the vehicle will hesitate/stumble 3-4 times and then begin to move. IF you press the brakes after the acceleration stumble, the vehicle shakes and almost stalls.
7) The hybrid battery does not remain charged, thus the electric motor rarely runs. (53 mpg in the beginning to barely 40 now). THIS IS A GAS CAR WITH BENEFITS, PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
8) At idle, in park the gas motor runs CONSTANTLY. The hybrid battery drains quicker with the a/c on.
8) The touchscreen display and the trunk release button, ON THE TRUNK, does not always work the first or second time.
9) When the vehicle switches from electric to gas, at idle, the cars shakes violently at times and has a really high, loud idle.
10) The car makes a "gurgling" sound when accelerating, more when cold.
11) The passenger rear window vibrates and makes noise when slightly rolled down.
12) The rear seat has loose hanging threads...
13) The rear seat would not lock in the upright position, when I first purchased the vehicle, without force being applied.
14) The fuel gauge and digital fuel display went blank and showed no fuel at one point. I have video.
15) When the recirculation button is pressed, the a/c seems to blow weaker, not stronger, as every other car that I have owned has done.
16) The Android auto feature overheats my phone, freezes and drains the phone, more than charges it.
17) The WiFi doesn't work most of the time... useless
18) The cardboard headliner is cute..
I'm sure I missing something, but I'm tired of typing.
I use this car for work, UBER. The service Writer at the dealer said that they could not give me a loaner car to use for UBER.
THAT is the reason I have not dropped this pile off at the dealer yet. I need a car or I can't work...I'm stuck.
My 2018 Elantra was outstanding, no issues in 32,000 miles.
This one is junk and I'm sooo disappointed. I feel like I wasted my money. I paid twice what I paid for my 2018 Elantra and I'm not happy!
The dealership experience has been completely awful as well. They can't even get the free service (oil changes) right without causing issues...
