Solid vehicle, good EV

This is a great car overall. Needs little maintenance and drives well in all weather conditions. The few things I would change o this care are minor cosmetic things and I hope one day they get to greater range.

Severe battery issues

At 35000 miles the battery pack failed and needed replacement. The replacement took 9 months. After 6 more weeks the battery failed again. This time I was travelling and the dealers and customer service people did not know how to arrange a car for me to return home. They finally figured it out after I started a warranty claim with the BBB.

Great car!

I've really enjoyed my Ioniq 5. It's fast, roomy, and having a full battery every morning beats weekly trips to the gas station.

Best overall EV

The 2024 Ioniq 5 is great car with a few minor issues that have largely been resolved in later models. It is the fasting charging EV I know of and it is fun to drive. It can even provide an ICE-like driving experience by choosing the "1" setting for regen. It also has a decent amount of knows and switches so you don't always have to use the touchscreen. Newer models have a rear wiper which this one lacks. Newer models don't require an expensive battery coolant flush.

Missing quality

Liked hop in and go. Wiper status. Clean layout. Cargo space was ok. Didn't like a missing rear wiper. Matt paint was hard to keep up with scrach. Charges goes 70%. Need more comfort options for the price.

My car

Perfect except for when we used a loaner. At about 10,00 the ICCU unit failed. It took 4 weeks for replacement. Sadly the replacement came to the dealership without the attachment bolts. Inexcusable. We know there were many more owners with same problem. Will the replacement also fail soon? Rating should be 3 and half.

Almost a great car

My husband and I love everything about the Ioniq 5 except for the ICCM issue. Unless that is fixed in future models we will not purchase or lease another.

Best car I’ve ever driven, that I don’t trust.

Great car. Fun to drive. Driver assistance package has been fantastic. Very comfortable. I’ve been bricked and towed to dealer three times. No cost, but no car. I worry. During storms and power outages I’ve plugged the house into the car twice for three days! I even powered a blues festival with the car for three hours! The ICCU thing was a huge disappointment. The warranty extension is appreciated.

Great car! Loved it for 2 years. Wish residual was less!

This has been a great car to lease. The only issue we had was an ICCU failure at 10,000 miles that was replaced under warranty in 2 business days. The car is a joy to drive and I now never pick my gas car to drive.

I love everything about this car except for the hatch design. The door hatch angles at 45% limiting storage space. As a result difffucult to stack luggage etc since the very back of the hatch area is cry shallow

Spacious Vehicle but with tight steering

For some reason , this vehicle from exterior looks like a medium size vehicle but interior space is better than mis size SUVs. Somehow the steering wheel is tight and not that smooth and I am not sure whether there is an issue with power steering but all vehicles have the same beahvior.
