Love it but for one serious flaw

I do a lot of in-town driving and love the vehicle in EV glide mode. But not crazy about the clunky combustion engine mode and hate that it downshifts rematurely on hills revving it out of EV mode, no matter the weather. But my serious complaint is that the PHEV charging program panel DOES NOT HOLD THE SETUP I enter correctly time and again, just before I turn the car off. I set the car to charge only from 11:00 p.m. yo 7:00 am; in the morning OFTEN I see that it's barely charged and then look at the settings and i changed the end time to 12:00 am. This has happened more times than I can count and using my phone app: same problem.I have to try to plug it in close to 11:00 (NYS Nat Grid EV discount 11-7). HUGE DEFECT. Deler has washed its hands over the problem, blaming a Bluelink defect over which it says it has NO CONNECTION OR CONTROL. My next hybrid or EV will not alas be a Hyundai, for this reason.

Two year ownership review

Car is satisfactory in all respects, except noted as follows: 1. on longer trips while using gas, mpg and range a little disappointing, but my reference comparison is Ioniq that had combo range of 720 2. electronic shifting has its downside, as car was stuck in P on one instance, and starter battery ran down in another instance, and I could not put car in neutral to reposition it for a jump start. 3. scheduled charging has had glitches; worked fine fresh from factory, then would not save settings and online forums suggested this was widespread problem with no obvious solutions (e.g. software or firmware updates); finally was able to overcome problem with phone app, but my previous phone (Samsung S9) was not compatible with Bluelink app.

Reliable, safe, and good-looking car for this senior female

Love my Tucson highbrid plug-in: I feel safe on the road with my grand kiddos and am easing into the full-electric car experience. The cabin is high-end and roomy, and satellite sensors and window designs provide good visibility. Highly recommend this vehicle - owning cars for 50 years, this is by far one of my safest, reliable, and comfortable ones!

Hyundai Tuscon

I do love my car but I would never buy a hybrid plug in again. The battery when charged is only for 30 miles. I currently do not have a special plug at my house to charge it and for the few amount of miles I get it is not worth the cost to install it. I would recommend that you have a plug in model that has more mileage per charge.

Wonderful, BUT?

I love our Tucson, but quality is lower than reviews online. In 2 years and only 14000 miles, we had 3 major repairs: Chain linking gas and electric drive train failed (1 month loaner), Main computer failed ($$$ if not on warrantee), shock absorber failed.

Great car

I like my plug-in a lot. Says I’m getting 117-130 mpg around town. Good acceleration and braking. Sound system is good, Bluetooth works well. Too many bells and whistles that I don’t use, though. Retractable side mirrors would be a great addition.

Some quirks that a warranty should cover

There are a number of issues that should have been fixed through a warranty, but the dealership wanted to charge me just to diagnose. I do t think I would buy another Hyundai for thus reason.
