STAY AWAY!! FAR FAR AWAYA!
Rented a 2015 Limited back in 2015, had it for as week and loved it. Two years ago when one of the same models became available, I jumped at the chance to buy it. Have had 4 older Cherokees and loved them. Bought with 83,000 miles on it. have had two years with nonstop problems. Unable to drive it for almost 2 months.
-Bad body welds in the arches at the top of the rear hatch leaks water into the spare tire hold, water runs over the electronic parking brake which rusted it out and shorted the EPB. Not covered under the $3000 extended warranty I bought. Jeep know about this issue and ignores it and acts like bad welds is just part of their new car practices. $4000 repair.
-Plastic oil cooler cracked, backordered forever, who designs a plastic oil cooler housing that connects with the oil filter? Lazy poor design, again so many have busted they are on national backorder. covered by warranty, after 30 days and no part, I found a new mopar part, paid the difference from what the warranty would cover and got the cat back. $230 out of pocket and no car for 35 days.
Two weeks ago, pulled into the driveway put it in park, went to turn it off, wouldn't turn off kept saying put in park. Diagnostic was need to replace entire shift unit, covered under warrant, another 8 days without Jeep called to pick up yesterday, said they found a whole new problem while test driving after install, Power Transfer Unit is shot, on national backorder, no date when the part could possibly be in.
Before you buy a 2015, do your research, go on the Jeep maintenance pages and see all the problems they are having and all the things jeep will not take responsibility for. Everyone is saying the newer jeeps are great, but me, I would not buy from a company that sent out 2-3 years worth of complete crap vehicles that they do not back up and have completely screwed costumers over with. Buyer Beware!!
