Very disappointed
During my recent service visit, my experience was not so good. I brought my Tucson in for an oil change on November 3rd. To my surprise, the service advisor told me I needed front and rear brakes. My brakes were not making any noise, no squeeks, no nothing. However he insisted the brakes were worn and all needed to be replaced. He said the cost would be $643.24. I told him I didn't have money for that right now. I'm not working since COVID-19. However he insisted they needed to be done but he could offer me a credit plan. Monthly payments of $62.39 plus $52.15 down. I didn't know that this credit was going to cost me $105.47. I was unhappy, but he convinced me I needed all my brakes replaced.

When I got home and reviewed my receipt, I found that the service advisor flagged my account in your system with a note that said: Due to age/mileage/condition of vehicle Napleton West Palm Beach Hyundai will not be held liable for additional mechanical issues that arise during or after original repairs are completed. He didn't tell me he was going to do this, and I felt like he conned me.

The next day I returned to Hyundai and saw Mr. Palermo. I questioned him about why he flagged my account in this manner. He told me, oh don't worry, that's just standard for cars over 60,000 miles. It means nothing. I said, if it meant nothing, why would you flag my account this way? My car is in excellent condition. He told me he had no choice in the matter. The computer does it automatically.

Let me tell you, I feel like I was conned. I don't believe I really needed front and rear brakes, and I feel flagging my account without even telling me was wrong.

Money is very hard for me because I can't work due to COVID-19. I didn't need to spend all of that money. I even suspect I was probably overcharged.

Up to that time, I was loyal and always came to this facility to service my car. After this experience, I probably will find another place to service my car.

I'm sorry to complain, but I really feel I was conned.

Virus? What virus?
Not any steps taken by service associates to comply with current mandates and recommendations for staying safe during this pandemic. My past experiences have been from ok to pretty good, but this last visit 7/3/2020 was shocking. The numbers of new cases in FL is one of the highest in the nation.
Most NO masks
No social distancing or partitions in service write up area
No hand sanitizers in service write up area
Although my car was adequately serviced, at this time I would not recommend.

Giving Hyundai a 2nd opportunity
Mike, service manager from Hyundai called me regarding my very disappointing experience review I gave last week. I was surprised to hear from him, but he seemed genuinely concerned on how dissatisfied I was on my last visit. He stated he is working to get his teams quality of service improved and has asked me to return for my next oil change so I can experience better service. I look forward to seeing the changes and improvements in the new coming year. Thanks Mike for reaching out, it’s nice to know that as a customer I’m being heard!

Dissatisfied
From the 25 minute wait just to get into the service area and having to wait 4.5 hours even though I had an appointment was very unsatisfactory for me. Service area either need more help or more training on how to do properly do their job.

Forgot to rotate my tires
Brought my Santa Fe in for a recall service. While there I asked for a oil and filter change and tire rotation using a coupon they sent me in the mail. If I didn't check my car tires before I left I would not have found out they forgot to do the tire rotation. (I always take note of which tires are where). I had to go search out the service technician and tell him. He became a little defensive saying there was no mistake but after checking the paperwork he realized it was his mistake. I had to wait again while they did the rotation. He did apologize before I left.

Snacks were reasonably priced unlike some other places. My car was completed in the time told, checking out was easy, and washed car (much appreciated) ready. I felt the car ran better and I’m happy with the whole experience.

Perhaps 3+ stars is more appropriate. I just didn’t fill in boxes to get this completed. Hope it helps improve things.
