Blown Head Gasket - After Comprehensive Repair Honda Element Runs Better Than Ever!
The infamous words you hope not to hear - Blown Head Gasket - because it's going to be a lot of labor, and a fairly large bill...but who do you trust to do it right with all the checks and patience to do it right?

There's nowhere else to go than Fred's Wrenchouse when you want it done properly: Definitive diagnosis of blown head gasket and/or cracked head - hydrocarbons in the cooling system & failed block test. The estimated complete repair was wallet-puckering, but you either do it right the first time or do it twice when the first half-assed "cheaper" repair fails down the road.

So, I bit the bullet because I truly trust Fred and his team.

The engine was disassembled, the head was removed and sent out to a machine shop for valve - grind complete: remove carbon, check surfaces for warpage, reface or replace valves, resurface valve seats, clean valve guides, adjust valve clearances (where applicable).

Machine Labor: pressure test for cracks, valve grind, re-surface cylinder head. Lots of new parts: Cylinder Head Gasket Set, New Cylinder Head Bolts, Anti-Freeze, Oil, Timing Cover Gasket Kit, New Thermostat, New Radiator Cap, etc.

How does it perform afterward? Fantastic! This is the best this Honda Element has ever performed, better than any Element I've ever driven, in fact.

If you have any repair you need to have done, you are in great hands at Fred's Wrenchouse.
