The shop was sold in Spring 2022. I had fair experiences before with this place but it has changed drastically.
Before leaving the parking lot of their shop, I showed two staff members that the work they had just finished was causing malfunctions. The staff showed NO to get the car working. Even after I specifically asked to take my car back into the shop & visually inspect for just a few minutes if something had been missed they refused to help. Then the manager preferred to waste 30 minutes trying to convince me to pay $150 extra just to diagnose what was wrong with the work he had just finished doing. I went straight to another shop & faulty work was found within 10 minutes of visual inspection. The 2nd opinion repair shop said the mistakes were clearly consequence of not reassembling the car according to repair standards.

Went downhill under new ownership
Don't be fooled by fake reviews
I had a horrible experience here in June, 2022, as a result of which my car is now at another shop for repairs.
On Saturday went to get a VA Safety Inspection at Hunter’s Wood Exxon, 12080 Glade Drive, Reston VA 20191. The inspection found that two of the tires and headlamps must be replaced. There were no inspection findings about the tire pressure monitoring system, ABS or emergency break.
On Tuesday I dropped off my car at the same Exxon for repairs. They replaced the headlamps and all five tires. Wednesday afternoon I got a voicemail that the car was done and ready to go. I picked up the car the same Wednesday evening, and paid over $1000. The service staff had already left. On the dash, the ABS light, the emergency break light, and the tire pressure light were on. I tried to reset the tire pressure light, but it stayed on permanently. The shop also left tire lube all over my new tires.
I returned to the Exxon Thursday morning, and explained the situation to the service manager Tim. Tim said that the dash lights were like that when the shop started the repairs. This cannot be possibly true, as none of these lights were flagged by the inspection. This means that the repair shop broke something related to the tire pressure, ABS and emergency break sensors. After repeated back-and-forth like this: me: “these lights were not on before”; Tim: “yes, they were” I realized that Tim is not going to own up to the shop’s mistake, turned around, and started to walk away. Tim followed me to my car, and continued speaking angrily and cussing, which left me scared for my safety. I took a video of Tim standing and talking angrily next to my car as I was trying to drive away. (Attaching a frame from this video). As I was driving off the parking lot, he continued to follow my car, and in my rear-view mirror I saw him flipping me the bird.
When I drove the car over 60mph for the first time after Hunter's Woods Exxon "worked" on it, the steering wheel vibrated like crazy. So, this shop can't even balance the wheels properly....
I demand that Exxon Hunter’s Wood pays for repair associated with these dashboard lights at another repair shop, as after Tim’s angry outburst I am now worried about my safety at this shop, not to mention that I no longer trust this shop.
One last thing to mention – I had had my cars repaired and serviced at this shop for years, under Suman’s ownership, and always got excellent service. Since he sold this business in early 2022, many of the staff have left, and it clearly went downhill under Chahel ownership. I’m never setting my foot there again.

great help from the new owner
stopped in this morning with a question about my windshield wiper and was helped by a great guy, who turned out to be the new owner! He and one of his mechanics took care of my "problem" in less than 3 minutes and did not charge me and would not accept any type of payment. Great service and help and so friendly. It's great to have a place like this in the neighborhood, and i would say to anyone to stop in and see if they can assist you with their great attitude and knowledge.
Tim and Diesel were great. My car had been repaired by the previous owners and was under warranty. My car failed inspection but Tim was able to order the part and Diesel fixed it so I could get my car to pass inspection. Great service.
I am a long time customer of Hunters Woods Exxon and once again proven that they are the BEST….best in service, best in product/service, best in price and, most importantly, providing the best in customer service.
There's something really satisfying about being able to talk to the manager AND head mechanic about your Jeep issue. I hope my Jeep doesn't break down again, but if it does, I know exactly where to bring it!! Thanks, Tim and Diesel!!
