LEMON!!!

The car has been at the dealership since I purchased the car over two years. They finally declared it a lemon and repurchasing the vehicle from me. Over the past two years, it was probably at the dealership for 3 month time period. They wasted my time and did not provide any financial reimbursement for my time that I spent going back and forth to dealership and dealing with a terrible loaner car as well.

Convenience; Confort and performance.

The Ioniq5 is an great car. We’ve had it for over two years and thoroughly enjoy the comfortable driving experience. The fast charging feature is particularly convenient, especially during long road trips. The car’s acceleration, stability, and range are also impressive. Unfortunately, we encountered some issues with the 12-volt battery, which died just shy of a year after purchasing the car. Additionally, we had problems with the HAVC unit, which rendered the car eligible for a replacement under Georgia Lemon Law. Despite these setbacks, the overall experience has been positive.

A great car but glad we’re leasing

This is our first EV and we were drawn to the light minimalist design. It is comfortable, quick and the most technologically advanced vehicle we’ve ever driven. Other than having to replace the 12 volt battery and a couple of software recalls, it has been trouble free over more than 2 years. Having said that it has some flaws that make us wish it was only a 2 year lease. They have already fixed the absence of a rear wiper in later models but fatal flaw is it doesn’t fit my wife. The driver seat doesn’t raise high enough for to have proper front vision for parking and she can’t get out of the seat without moving the seat back when exiting. We only have one car and those little problems eliminate the Ioniq 5 when finish the lease.

2023 SEL bought new, now with 23K miles

Very smooth driving experience, very quite, as expected from an EV. Personally, I’d like better body roll management, perhaps larger anti sway bars could go a long way with that. It reminds me of old american land yachts like a 1976 Cadillac that had upgraded suspension. I’m not saying that as a compliment though because this is a 2023 halo car for a major auto manufacturer. It’s a great commuter and nice shorter (For USA standards) road trip car. I take 150-ish one way trips with good fast charging available at destination. I’ll drive to the destination, drive around with remainder charge and then top off before returning. I’m unfortunately mindful of the ICCU failing at any time stranding me. My ICCU has not failed yet and maybe it never will but I’m leery of it happening at the worst time possible.

Highs and lows

Fun drive. Great visibility from inside cabin. Great amenities and safety features. Mechanically it felt unfinished as though it were rushed off the factory assembly. The value of the car was overestimated and lease end car payout was significantly higher than car value. The finish quality of the car and the excessive overvalued car price and lease payments are why I do not consider staying with this enjoyable car or this brand.

Most fun car I’ve ever owned.

First, a road trip to Scottsdale (AZ) from Chicagoland, fighting daily construction on 294, weekends in Wisconsin or Michigan. It’s always fun. Especially after learning where & how to recharge the vehicle at minimal cost and time.

eye catching SUV

This all wheel drive electric SUV is a fun car to drive. It has plenty of torque and pickup as well as reasonable battery mileage. He is surprisingly roomy inside and when the back, reclining seats are down I can fit my bicycle in without removing the front wheel. The matt gray finish and the aluminum multifaceted, black, wheels are eye catching. The interior is beautiful with its soft leather like seats, and ambient lighting. The two large screens are easy to negotiate and read and there are both touch screen and physical knobs to adjust settings. It has a lot of luxury features e.g. heated seating and steering as well as airconditioned seats. It is equipped with a holgraphic display and driver assisted steering and drive. The one down side is that it does not have a rear wiper and this is a design mistake.

2023 Ioniq 5 Review

Absolutely love this vehicle. While there are some things I would comment on to improve, they've mostly been taken care of with the 2024 and 2025 model years. The only persistent annoyance I have is the lack of native wireless Android Auto integration. Without that, the stock navigation, while generally good, shows its age with only two updates a year.

Love my I-5!!! It’s fast and very easy to maneuver thru traffic, etc. only downside had been all the recalls on its electronic functions.
