Problems

As I drive 2026 Kona I am beginning to find issues with the vehicle. 1. When you hold it in second gear and rev the engine up above 4000 rpm and take your foot off the gas pedal the engine continues to increase in rpm and then hold speed and rpm. When you take your foot go the gas pedal the vehicle should immediately begin to slow down and the the engine should also immediately fall in rpm. 2. The vehicle has a hesitation problem at all speeds and gears, especially when you come to a stop and quickly proceed to accelerate again the vehicle hesitated for 2 seconds, and just sits as you push the gas pedal more and more. 3. The engine is too small for the weight of the vehicle that it cannot slow the vehicle down in low gears. This is a design choice in designing the vehicle, but a bigger engine would have been better. perhaps the 2.0 L. 4. The transmission is geared incorrectly for the drive to have constant control of the gears, and I want control over first gear! 4. Oh, it is shift happy. I wish it would stop shifting gears so quickly.

Questioning

Your manuals don’t seem to help me or friends. Still finding out how things work. Otherwise the car seems ok. Handles nicely. Paid the car off the following month and still haven’t received the title . Plus, I paid for extra plan for the tires and computer software. There isn’t any id card to show the coverages?

New Kona

The heated steering wheel and seats were my primary reason for considering this particular vehicle. They perform excellently. The safety features are wonderful, in particular the vibrating steering wheel when another car approaches. I am still having trouble with the volume control for driving directions. I would like to increase the volume but turning the volume control when getting the verbal directions is not effective.

Great car except for 1 thing!

Love this car, its my third Hyundai, but cannot turn off (CONSIDER TAKING A BREAK) alert with the 3 beeps! And it goes off frequently! Very annoying, and for that reason, I will not get another. Too bad, cuz other than that, its a great car! Very comfortable, smooth drive. Btw, they say you can turn it off, but you cannot.

Great small SUV

I’m just over a month with my Kona, and it has exceeded my expectations. Fit and finish are excellent, very comfortable to drive, and incredibly good on gas. On a recent trip to Charleston we averaged 44.3 mpg. I have the 2.0 gas engine! Not a hybrid
