Great Vehicle. But Quirky Electronics
Voice commands went out at 7,500 miles. Also, Sometimes the vehicle electronics does things as though it's fighting you. For example, I don't always have my foot on the brake when I shift into Drive. But I still expect the vehicle to shift into Drive. It doesn't. One time it did this and I was put in a dangerous situation as a result. No matter which drive mode you've selected, the throttle output puts out power awkwardly. Sometimes there a delay in getting power followed by a head-snapping jolt of acceleration. Tolerances also seem to be a problem when moving in and out of traffic as it constantly alerts me that I am too close to another vehicle when I am not. Adaptive cruise slows way to early when approaching another vehicle. So, I disconnect it and drive it a little closer to the vehicle in front of me before re-engaging it. That means I'm constantly engaging and disengaging the Adaptive Cruise Control. That's no good. It seems as though Hyundai would have benefited from taking someone like me for a drive to point out all the unintuitive things the electronics do. But ultimately, my Palisade is a great vehicle. We've driven it on 4 trips of 1250 miles each. The vehicle is responsive, powerful, and sticks like glue to the road at a lot of different speeds. The cabin is spacious and my kids really like the second row captain's chairs. Actually, we really love the captain's chairs. My Palisade is supremely quiet and I love that. Just need to work out usability & reliability with the electronics.
