Santa cruz 2024

I've only owned this vehicle for a month but I've taken it to the dealer 4 times to get things fixed. At this point my very disappointed. I wasn't expecting a brand new car would give me this much of an inconvenience.

Been in shop longer than had it

Took on my new Santa Cruz for first service on 4 Nov 2023 They found a problem and it has been in shop more three weeks because they cannot get replacement part. Quality is poor and replacement parts for brand new 2024 is hard to find

Radiator Issues

Purchased end of August 2023 - brand new 2024 Santa Cruz SE. Vehicle has 2k miles and already in the shop. Radiator issues that the dealer is claiming they will not cover. I am very disappointed... truck randomly overheated while driving, almost caught on fire. Smoke coming from hood. Faulty radiator that exploded that Hyundai will not cover... very poor customer service at local dealership.

Hasn’t even had its first oil change and already having problems

Bought my 2024 Santa Cruz 11/2023. Started having issues with electrical, AC and dashboard. Meters don’t work, blinkers, AC, all warning signs flashing. Brought it to lithia hyundai Reno. They said they couldn’t see a problem after “inspecting” it for a week. 2 days later, same thing. No blinkers, no AC, all warning signs flashing, dashboard malfunctioning again. Brought it back to lithia Hyundai. 2 weeks later still no response. Also no loaner car. Promised time and time again the service rep would contact me with an update, if not at the very least the “receptionist” Going on 3 weeks now, no update. I hated my car before which was a hyundai Tucson, it had been stolen in San Jose by the Kia boys and trashed. Hyundai in Stevens Creek did an absolutely disgusting job with the repairs. Thought I had it bad then I switch into a 2024 Santa Cruz. I hate this car. I hate Hyundai, I hate the service department and how they have constantly mishandled this situation. Buyer beware.

Santa Cruz Lives in The Shop

Had the vehicle less than 30 days and it has been in the shop most of that time Including now. It has an infotainment issue causing it to reboot constantly and the radio buttons don’t work and the volume goes full blast and you can’t turn it down or off.

Absurd warranty requirements to get an intermittent faulty screen replacement

Have an issue with a touchscreen display the blanks out frequently. Took cell phone video to demonstrate issue to dealer. Dealer said they couldn’t replace components until they could recreate issue. Each time i take it in i am without my new car for 5 hours. They may never get issue to repeat that’s why i took video. by their logic if i took it in 200 I would still have a defective car.

2024 Santa Cruz

I am very disappointed in my purchase. I have nothing but exterior problems from day one. I've had my Santa Cruz for 12wks. 6 of those weeks it's been in the shop and has to go back in again. DISAPPOINTED

Worst vehicle I've ever owner.

The Santa Cruz is the most uncomfortable vehicle to drive that I have had in over 40 years. I have bought different cushions to help me but none really help that much. I have many passengers that say the same thing. This is 2025 not 1960. Should be able to make it more comfortable but I know it has to be the cost to big companies like you all. Enough said but I will never buy another Hyundai in my lifetime. I bought a warranty package that wouldn't even cover the rotors and my car only had 13,000 miles on the vehicle. Said the warranty on them was only for 10,000 miles. Screw Hyundai. If you can't warranty a vehicle like most of us look to warranties. Like I said HYUNDAI is ridiculous and I will be posting things about this vehicle because I know that the best way to get at you is to say the truth about your vehicles. Have a GREAT WEEK.

Transmission issues

While driving, the truck would drop down to 16 mph and 3,000 rpm with the gas pedal all the way down. I had to pull over (while trying to not get run over), turn it off and restart after a couple minutes. Then it would run correctly—-until the next time it decided to drop to 16 mph. Had it in service 3 times during the 2 months I had it. No codes or red lights.

Purchasing our 2024 activity package Santa Cruz was a huge mistake.

No electronic adjustment passenger seat. No glove box light. The bed cover leaks like a sieve.

Worst paint job on a vehicle I have ever owned

We purchased this vehicle for our son in May 2025 as a graduation gift. Once we got it and the sun was able to shine on the car, we could see where the paint on ALL vertical surfaces of the car had run and pooled up in wavy patterns along the bottom of the doors and the quarter panels. We contacted the dealership asking for assistance with the issue and were told they would have to contact Hyundai corporate to figure out what to do. We have not heard back from anyone in 4 weeks now.

Car has been in the shop for 4 months

My cruise control broke and the bed on my Santa Cruze has a broken bed cover. I dropped it off July 21st and my car has been there ever since. I still make my $1,000 payment every month. On month 2 I went and bought another vehicle because I was tired of borrowing family members vehicles. I won’t buy another Hyundai again.

Transmission of turbo models is almost undrivable.

When starting from a stop, vehicle jerks forward violently 3 or 4 times, worsening in cold weather. Contacted dealer, was told service will take 4 hours and if the dealer determines this is “inherent” in this model, charge to me will be $175. Vehicle lost $10,000 trade-in value the moment it rolled off the lot, per the dealer (Graham Hyundai, Mansfield, Ohio.)
