Never again

I used to love Hyundai until I got the 2026 Santa Fe hybrid. The hybrid part is nice to have but the amount of technical issues I’ve had in the 4 months I’ve owned it is ridiculous! This was my dream car but now it’s my nightmare. Never again will I own a Hyundai after this.

Destroyed my expectations for Hyundai and SUV's

I absolutely love the 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe SEL Hybrid. It has been a solid vehicle and feels premium when driving. It is comfortable and the interior is great. The outside is great. I like the boxy look. The only negatives I have at all is the back looks ugly and I wish it added a spare tire under the vehicle next to the muffler in the back. While it is ugly, I love the shape of the back for hauling. I just think the tail lights and design could have been moved around to look more appealing.

Great but with one major flaw

I love the looks, the comfort, and the ride. The screens are great. On flat roads on the interstate, driving on my own with no extra luggage, I struggle to get more than 28mpg. My only real complaint is that if you wear sunglasses that are a bit dark, the "consider taking a break" bell goes off, and the screen flashes at you every few minutes. It makes highway driving into the sun a real chore and keeps anyone from taking a nap while you are driving. Your choice is to ruin your eyes or hear the alarm go off all the time. The Hyundai Forums are full of complaints about this, and had I known about it before I purchased the vehicle, I would have chosen something else.

Overall a great and comfortable car.

Overall, the car is very comfortable and fun to drive. I would just point out that there are a few minor electronic details that didn't seem to be well thought out when engineered and designed. One is the door handle and keyless entry. I had the previous Santa Fe Sport from 2013 and it was very simple to open keyless by just pressing the door handle button. On this new one, I have had this car for 3 months now and it is hit or miss and just doesn't seem to respond well. Sometimes, it will open and then close again and the most confusing part is opening the door from the passenger side doors. Occasionally, I just give up and have to pull out my key remote to just unlock the door. This should be happening. Also, the garage door opener under the rearview mirror does not work when the engine is off. This can be very inconvenient for those of us who occasionally need to stay in the car to either take a call or do something on the phone. Unless we keep the engine on (which I would not want to do in the garage), I am unable to close the garage door because the opener becomes deactivated. My previous Santa Fe was still able to use the garage opener even after my car was turned off.

Sante Fe review after 2 months

I am a big fan of this car, I’ve used it for driving 5 miles to and from school everyday and it works perfectly, my gas mileage is amazing i’ve only refilled gas 2 time in 2 months. I love the interior styling and use of space, especially the seemingly never ending center console. The infotainment system works great and the clicks and alerts from the dash get my attention but aren’t annoying so great job with that, i don’t feel slow when i drive it there is plenty of get up and go. This car might be the quietest and best ride i’ve been in. Two key drawbacks are the vent placement while looking cool i feel like 50-60% of the air hits the steering wheel which is good on a very hot day for my hands i wish they were placed differently. And the headlights cold stay on auto between starts and stops. Otherwise this has been an amazing car

2026 Santa Fe Limited htrac hybrid

Excellent overall vehicle.Ultimate Red with grey captains chairs is a very rich looking combination. Appreciate very much the amount of storage areas in the front seat area.The doors close with a nice solid sound. The hybrid system has plenty of power while returning good fuel mileage.
