UGH!

The Jeep Liberty....The Frankenstein of cars. I love Jeeps, but this patchwork quilt "The Liberty", is an overwhelming money pit. Too many different manufactures involved in making this on. STAY AWAY from the Liberty. I still love Jeeps

crappy modle

Had more than $5,000 worth of repairs in the first 4 years!!!! I know why they don't make this anymore!

Made in China

It seems to be one thing after another with this vehicle. From poor heating to poor AC. I have paid more in repairs than I paid for the car itself. The good thing is it does get relatively good gas milage.

Jeep windows constant headache

I love my 06 Liberty... she turns on a dime but the windows are tragic.... I've replaced by back windows a total of 3 different times. Twice on the rear drivers side and once on the rear passenger side. And no one sits in the back. The passenger window is now getting ready to go out.

Needs improvement

I have had to replace all of the regulators for all my windows. That should not happen. The A/C units are terrible. I have 3 jeeps and have had to replace the units on all of them and still have to take it in every year for service. Not happy with them ! Otherwise I like the Jeeps otherwise I would not be on my 3rd one. Great for Wisconsin winters !

Could Have Been Better Made

Engine and drive train are doing well. Power window regulators are poor quality, we have re placed seven since purchasing the Liberty in 2006. We have 126,000 miles on the Liberty and have no plans to replace it at present time.

Decent vechicle- no customer or manufacture support for Jeep owners once the warranty has expired. Would not recommend ever buying any Jeep products ——ever. Grateful to have found great independent mechanic.

Inexpensive Used Diesel Vehicle

I picked up a used 2006 Diesel Jeep Liberty with 95000 miles on it for $5000. So far it has been a decent vehicle for the last 2.5yrs and 12000 miles. The only breakdown I've had is the ignition had to be replaced, a common failure for jeeps of this era. I regularly take this vehicle offroading and it has exceeded my expectations, including running trails in MOAB UT. Something to note about the Liberty's with diesel engines is that there are extra general maintenance expenses if you want to keep them running well. The most notable of these expenses is a 100,000 mile timing belt job that cost around $2,000. I wish I had known that prior to my purchase but other than that this little Jeep has proven itself a stout little vehicle.

Maintenance is very important

This car needs a lot of care and maintenance . The only reason it is still running is bevause I take good care of it and have a good mechanic who knows how to fix whatever is wrong with it right away.

Mostly pleased with this vehicle

Other than the problem with the window regulators, which I've replaced one on both($200 a piece) and now they are out again(both). Jeep knows this is a problem but they don't seem to care, so now they're just propped up to stay up. And just spent $360 on the air conditioner. But considering that is about all the problems I had with it for the past 8 years, then I'm quite pleased with it.

Great car for a long time

My Jeep Liberty is ten years old and now has over 200,000 miles on it. It has been, throughout the time I've owned it (bought used in 2006), a very capable, dependable vehicle that has been able to go in any weather without significant problems. Replacing the radiator is the first major expensive repair I've had to make on it. My only challenges with it are its comparatively mediocre gas mileage and the fact that it now uses about a quart of oil every thousand miles.

Baby Jeep Jr.

I love Jeep! This is our second. We had 98 grand Cherokee. Lasted 12 yrs. Now we have 2006 liberty. Would definately buy another jeep. Reliable. Low maintenance.

Pros and cons for my Jeep.

I like the way my Jeep hugs the road. The seats are not super comfortable. I wish it was just a few inches longer for naps! On a long trip I get decent mileage but it is not good on gas mileage in local travel, especially in winter.

Defective window motors

Both of my rear windows, window regulators have stopped working. This seems to be a recall problem but they refused to repair them so my windows are permanently closed.

Shifts ok.Cheap car but not too bad to own. Will drive to death. Dislike location of window switches. Bought this without really checking the heat. Now replacing the heater core. Big job. Pain to do. Car is peppy. Good on gas. Brakes good. Ac good. No frills. 4wd is good

Best jeep ever.

This is one of the most reliable vehicles that I ever owned. As it gets older and needs to be repaired, I take it to Universal because they give it the attention that it needs. Vehicle has 181,000 miles on it and runs very well with proper maintenance. Have a lot more miles to go. Thanks guys.

Keeps on ticking

This vehicle has 264,000 miles and still going. Have had to do maintenance upkeep and repairs like any used vehicle needs, but better than having a new car payment. Not the most powerful vehicle I have ever had, kind of a rough ride, but it is my daily winter driver. Last few snowstorms I was right out there with all the big boys and their 4wd's. It's earned its keep.

It's showing its age, but still a very reliable car. Biggest issue has been blind spots. I've had several scary close calls. Drives like a truck. There are much more fuel efficient cars available now.

Jeep Liberty should be made again

I have owned two Jeep liberties & I would have continued to buy another. I love the ride,the ability to switch into 4 wheel at my convenience and the size. My only complaint is the fuel mpg. I find I don't get much over 17mpg. ?
