Love the Toyota Avalon
The 2012 Toyota Avalon Limited is a great vehicle in general. It is not flashy and will not attract younger crowd. The body design is large and the interior is very roomy. The 3.5 V6 engine is smooth and so is the transmission. I will admit it is designed for luxury and comfort over everything else. I purchased this vehicle for this purpose. I am older and I wanted the comfort of the vehicle, the ease of handling and the reliability of Toyota. The vehicle is not perfect and I can't recall seeing any vehicle that is perfect. The pros: fuel economy for a non hybrid is 28 - 30 mpg, large leather seats are extremely comfy, leg room, power everything, sleek dashboard design, smooth ride, reliability. The cons: cosmetically not flashy, small back up video on the rear view mirror, the automatic rear shade will fail at some point, cost of replacement parts and repairs. I've had to put some money into repairs, but I do have 175,600 miles on it. I bought the vehicle used and I love it. I do regular maintenance on it, oil changes, transmission fluid change, brake pad and rotor replacement, and tune ups and the Avalon runs like a champ and as long as I don't wreck it, I will probably run 300,000 miles on it before considering replacing it and likey it will passed down to one of my kids. I have disconnected the rear automatic shade because the motor is going bad on it and it was making a lot of noise going down. And cost of tires for the vehicle are not cheap, but I want to have quiet and grippy tires so I only look for name brand tires. And I had a rack and pinion leak and torn boot, this had been the only real costly repair. If anyone is looking for a great family car/old man's car, I would recommend this vehicle every day. I really like the newer generations and will probably get another Toyota Avalon in the future.
