Great EV with excellent styling, quality and range

I am very happy with my new Hyundai Kona EV. It drives beautifully and certainly turns heads with it's stylish lines and finishes. The trunk is quite wide and spacious compared to other hatchbacks that I have owned. My experience at the dealership was very pleasant and helpful. No high pressure. Such a fun car to drive.

Fun to drive with no fossil fuel use

This is a fun car to drive with prompt acceleration typical of an electric car. Need to get used to the regenerative braking that occurs when you back off the pedal.Front seats are comfortable and the ride is no different than our RAV4. Moderately road noise. Back seating is tight because there is no place to put your toes under the front seats. The cargo area is small but usable. 253 miles on a charge is plenty for most trips around town and we have charged it from regular wall plug so far. While the steering wheel is leather wrapped, it feels like plastic. Some small phones may fit on the charger, mine won't.

2021 Hyundai Kona EV

This EV is a wonderful car. The onboard charger is only 7.2 kW. Consider upgrading it to a 9.6 kW unit. The DCFC maximum charging power appears to be about 75 kW. Consider upgrading it to 150 kW. Any thoughts about making future Kona EV's AWD?

Really good EV, controls make sense, but not a luxury vehicle

Hyundai checked all the important boxes for me. Great safety features, controls make sense and are easy to use. Fun drive and great range. Wish Hyundai had spent more money on the leather seats and sound quality. The front grill with the weird indents is a good bug catcher but not all that sophisticated.

Kona EV

No more paying for gasoline is a big plus. Great acceleration with the electric motor, but it's no Tesla. Only front wheel drive. Android auto is a plus. I think the design of the Kona is great, much better than the Ioniq which was the other electric alternative.

LOVE MY EV!

I can't say enough about how much I love this car. It is smooth, quiet, comfortable and responsive. Every detail is well thought out and implemented. It is a very intuitive vehicle. We prefer to use the Kona EV over our other car and have not put gas in it since we bought EV! My husband is a music buff and loves the audio sound and components. I use the eco mode mainly for driving around town and it is a plus that I can charge the battery by slowing down or braking with the paddle. We are very pleased with this purchase and anyone who is considering buying a Kona EV shouldn't hesitate. When researching this vehicle, we watched the reviews on you tube and everything they spoke about was spot on. The interior must have gotten an upgrade as the plastic in my EV feels solid and doesn't feel cheap like the comments from you tube. It is big enough that we don't hit our heads getting into it like the Honda Civic did- another plus! I feel like I'm doing my part to save the planet from climate change by purchasing the Kona EV... moving forward!

fun car

I have wanted to go electric for some time. I fell in love with the Tesla but it's price point was too high for me. The Hyundai Kona EV was the perfect solution to my need/want to go electric. It's a fun car to drive, especially when you drive y gas stations. I have a charger set up in my garage and once a week I plug the car in at night and I'm good to go by the morning. The increase to my electric bill is much lower than what I was spending on gas(especially now with gas prices going crazy).

Great Value

High quality at a great price. Crisp, clean, strong looking vehicle in its own right. The electric powertrain is very responsive and so much nicer than a gas engine and transmission powertrain. Comfortable interior, excellent visibility, smooth and comfortable ride. Excellent range. Unbeatable warranty.

We Love our Kona EVs!

My husband and I both leased Hyundai Kona EVs and we love, love, love them! They are so comfortable, they drive great, and look amazing! We couldn't be happier with our purchase. The only improvement I would make is to add wireless Android Auto functionality OR allow us to disable the wireless Qi charging. As of now, it requires us to have our phones plugged in, and if you sit it in the phone slot, the wireless Qi charger causes the phone to overheat because it is ALSO plugged in to use Android Auto.

2021 Kona Electric

We really like this Kona electric!Reliability and energy efficiency is important to us. Also moving towards electric vehicles is important to us. The Kona fits these bills very well. And we really like the styling of the vehicle… It is not the standard staid looking electric car.

AM and FM reception are poor. Old school negotiating tactics at the dealership: e.g. extremely low trade-in offer on Elantra in excellent condition. Only after I walked out was I called at home with a better offer. Pressured to buy an extended warranty. I was told that a blue (preferred) model had been located so I wrote a non-refundable $1,000 check. A couple of days later the car arrived. It was red.

The Kona EV is Impressive

Definitely wanted to end my addiction to fossil fuels - I needed a small SUV to replace my Mini Countryman S. I wanted good performance, reasonable styling and to go electric. Didn't want to wait for the GM mini SUV and also considered the Kia Niro - why bother with a hybrid - just double the complexity. The Kona EV was an excellent choice. So far so good.

Great car!

I am very satisfied with my new 2021 Hyundai Kona EV from Healey Hyundai in Beacon, NY. They treat their customers right! They had the car I wanted, when I wanted it, in a color I liked. On the test drive, I was impressed with the handling. The salesman pointed out the additional safety features - blind spot warning and proximity warning. At the time, I didn't think much of it. But on the road, they kick in and really help. What a pleasant surprise!

Never going back to a gas vehicle

The car is well built, super quiet, smooth, with instant acceleration. Ultimate has all the bells and whistles. The lease with the tax credits, makes it 300 a month with no money down for 10k Mike's a year. I am getting 150 mpg in eco mode, and eco mode (with 3 setting on regenerative braking) is still very responsive.

Fun, Fast and Funky- A great Tesla alternative.

We wanted a Tesla but the hefty monthly fee stopped us. We looked at Kia, but the dealership was unfriendly and firm pricing. We liked the Ioniq but then chose Kona due to the greater range. We love it. We both fight about who gets to take it. I wish it would charge faster - but we only have a regular outlet at home. It came with a free charge card for Chargepoint, but that doesn't work. It's really quick and silent. The Kona is much better than I thought it was and for a lease at under $300 a month - is $200 less than a Tesla.

Great range for the price

Great range for the price. I wish the ride quality was better. You can feel the road at all times which is not always ideal. Styling and features are really well thought out and very easy to use. Overall, I'd recommend.

EV is great

Love this car, the instant acceleration and ease of use makes it an amazing entry level EV car for anyone looking or on the fence about electric but turned off by high prices. The car has a lot of power for it's size and appearance so it's deceptively fast. Perfect commuter car or daily driver around the city.

I have received a few unsolicited compliments about my car at work. I am a simple, no-frills type of person and the Kona EV meets almost all my needs. My only complaint is the cargo space and tight back seat.
