good car

I haven't put a lot of miles on this car in 2 yrs so I can't tell what more mileage would result in but it has performed well so far. It has had 2 issues that needed repair that should not have been a problem with such low mileage and that was disappointing. Its comfortable and the electronics on the screen work nicely. Easy to drive and handles well. Plenty of room in the back when the seats are down for cargo.

perfect combo vehicle

wanted a vehicle that was easy to park and maneuver around urban, congested areas. Also, wanted to use it on highway, with good gas mileage, safety and comfort.

Oil Leaks, Electrical and Servicing Issues

This is the first Hyundai I've owned (out of ten) that I have had issues with. I had an oil leak that seriously damaged my BRAND NEW driveway. The dealership denied there was a leak on two occasions. When I complained a third time, they injected a dye that revealed oil was leaking from the turbo and two other spots on the engine! I have also had problems with the LED light bar flickering and a headlight that has lost it's seal and is full of moisture. The deal tried saying we must've banged it, we didn't, and there is absolutely no indication of bumping, damage, etc. They are trying to make me pay for this! I see online that Hyundai has had a lot of light/electrical issues on the new Kona, so this should absolutely be covered under warranty! I will be calling corporate to complain about the dealer's strong arm tactics in trying to avoid a warranty repair. Meanwhile, I was planning on getting the new fully loaded 2027 Tucson but I think I'm going to shop this one out. Very disappointed! PS: My daughter has had similar issues and more with her Kona.

Gear Shift

I absolutely hate the gear shifter. I thought I would get used to it but it annoys me every time I drive it. It’s also hard for other family members to use my car when they aren’t used to it. I will never buy another car with that shifter.

Overall I like the car. The only thing that bothers me is when I make a slow turn it doesn't sound right. It sounds like the car is sliding and the tires are not moving correctly. T next service I will question the service dept about it.

Disappointed

Multiple electrical issues. Have had to be in a loaner on numerous occasions since purchase. Purchased for commuting to work and is has NOT been a reliable vehicle. The dealership has been WONDERFUL to deal with but CORPORATE has been AWFUL! This car should be eligible for PA lemon Law - we are tracking all repairs to help us build a case in order to get a lawyer to help us.
