Impressed beyond expectations
I came from a luxury EV to this car in an unexpected way, and I am very impressed overall. The functionality is exactly what I need without getting a "truck" which I do not want. This 2026 Santa Cruz Limited has a very "car-like" feel when driving, but is muscular where I need it to be. The ride quality is amazing - not just by my standards, I have been told this several times. The fit and finish is extremely well executed, and it is a looker by all accounts - I am asked "what is that" all the time by smiling onlookers. The interior of the limited line is also a pleasure to sit in. Well executed screen and center stack, with physical controls where you expect them and where they should be. The infotainment is surprising in comparison to the luxury EV I left for this as well, it shares bout 85% of the functionality, while eliminating some layers of confusion - very well done Hyundai. There is nothing I don't really like about this vehicle, the performance of the 2.5L Turbo paired with the 8 Speed transmission is very responsive and smooth, and I am easily getting 30+mpg using cruise control, despite claims of less. Overall, I can't recommend this enough to anyone on the fence about the vehicle. I do not farm or haul large heavy things, but I do occasionally have a need to move things I do not want damaging the interior (wet, smelly, dirt, metallic etc) and it is the perfect wheelchair carrier for times when I need that functionality. The ease of having the covered, water-resistant bed with under bed storage and lighting is great for so many thins - including big grocery trips. I give an overall A+ to anyone who asks.
