2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

I went to this from a Murano and the Santa Fe’s cargo area is much smaller for my needs. It seems to have a known problem with hesitation when accelerating from a stop, for me, it’s usually from a right turn on red or yield. It’s enough for the guy behind me to beep. It has a rough ride when going over 55 MPH. Service has not been able to fix either.

Nice size, great interior/exterior design, beautiful overall styling. Not very happy about performance, especially acceleration. Some features should have been standard. The interior air vents placement is awkward, can never get the air to blow where I need. Same goes for left side driver armrest

Miss my 2009 Santa Fe

You bought a brand new 2017 Santa Fe sport. My husband surprised me as a Valentines gift. So being a gift I didn’t have input on it and didn’t realize it was four-cylinder, which I do not like. I love how it handles, I love the all wheel drive, I love how the back seats fold down quickly to transport things but realized that it’s shorter than my 2009 Santa Fe which was not a sport. Does five or 6 inches in the trunk make a huge difference. I do also noticed that my dashboard makes a lot of creaking sound. It’s probably from all the Connecticut pot holes but still it gets annoying. I love the warrantee I love the free tires and batteries for life. My biggest complaint about the warrantee is that it should include the balancing of your for free tires. It should be worked into the price of the warranty. I do not like surprises and add-ons to my bill. I really do miss my 2009 Santa Fe.

I am disappointed in the vehicle performance. The vehicle needs a V-6 (as my 2007 had) or a more powerful 4 cylinder. The sun reflecting off the dash is disturbing and dangerous at times. The selected equipment groups aew not good and confusing. The headlight are terrible at night. I miss my original Limited package

Santa Fe

The car is good but has a terrible blind spot. Additionally, it appears to be losing quite a bit of the smoothness of the ride. It has a delayed start and is concerning every time I start the car. It is a decent car but not five star.

Could be great but.....

I love the car but Hyundai doesn’t stand behind the product. Paint peeling before 36k miles and air bag issues. After bringing my car in for service i am told Hyundai is denying any repairs. I do t understand how that could be. It’s a new car.... garage kept.

Deceiving offers

I purchased my vehicle here with the promise that I would get everything I was looking for in my vehicle purchase. Not only was a looking for a specific payment in mind I also wanted rear view camera aswell as a roof rack. I left with the payment being $100 more then expected but I was told months later I could only get the rails but not the rack, therefore I never got my rack. I was pleased with my sales guy until this happened because had i not been promised, I would have never accepted an offer at $100 higher then I wanted. Also for small accessories I had to hound them to pick up.

It is ok and has been dependable but there are some conveniences that I would change. I have tp get out the car and open the trunk. The trunk is hard to open and close

Overall great car. Love it ...I would recommend it to someone who is having back problems. It is comfortable to drive and easy to get in and out. It is not too low for getting in and out of as were the other two sonatas that I owned. No mechanical issues at this time. It is dependable.

This is my 3rd Hyundai in 15 years--the first 2 were Santa Fe's-- my current car is a Santa Fe Sport--the quality and heaviness of the car is truly impressive--the ride is so smooth and efortless--it practically drives itself!

It needs to be built better!

There is a rattling noise on the left passenger and driver doors. I do not know where this noise is coming from? I had brought the car back to to Knauz Hyundai in Lake Forest Illinois where I purchased this car. They were unable to detect the problem. I did not mention this problem to Tamiami Hyundai thinking that they will not be able to help and I may end up spending my whole day at the service. The ride is not solid, feels like there are loose parts in the car. The gas mileage is poor especially in city driving, I barely get 18 to 19 miles per gallon. Car makes a lot of noise on sudden acceleration.

Worst blind spots ever

I like almost everything about my Santa Fe except the lack of visibility out of the four corners of the car. The back corners are more blocked than I’ve ever seen, and even the front corners are too thick. I can be stopped at a T intersection to take a left turn, look both ways and see no traffic, then look back to the right and see a car almost in front of me that had been blocked from my initial view by the right front pillar. Backing up in this car drives me crazy. Why has the auto industry made progress in every other area than VISIBILITY? Also, having to look at the screen to pick a new radio station distracts too much from the road.

Time will tell. We have had a few problems. They were handled very poorly by Hyundai. The dealership was great! A car being in the shop for 29 days is not acceptable. If we hadn’t put our foot down it would have been much longer!

Disappointed that 2.0 T engine will probably only last 170,000 miles.

Disappointed to learn that the 2.0 T engine will probably need to be replaced at a cost of ~$7,000 at ~170,000 miles. Disappointed on the inability of the GPS system to find locations that have been around for numerous years. Can not rely on the GPS system. Always need to carry a back-up system when traveling out of your known area.

Nothing special

The cabin area is noisy and the ride really isn't that smooth. The 4 cylinder doesn't transition smoothly from great to hear, but it gets me from point a to b. The phone within the navigation sucks and it's not consistent at all. Sometimes you have to repeat your command 3-4 times to make a call because it takes you through several prompts. Better yet, it might hang up. Really? Love the app so I can start my car from anywhere but remember nothing is for free cause that service will cost you 200.00 a year. That's only for the app and not bluelink cause that cost more. I will not recommend and once I'm right side up on my note I will trade this off for better quality.

Not Consistant!

Sometimes the rear censor will beep when you back up and sometimes it doesn't. Who knows why! The model of the car makes it hard to see out the front window at times. The section between the passenger window and the drivers window is too large and blocks my view at times. Not a good configuration!

What do you want me to say???

In my opinion though minor problems I don't think a car with 2000 miles should have any issues. If we did not have taken out an extended warrantee we could be spending a lot of money on repairs. So the car is reasonably priced on one end and could be very costly on the other end. At this point the extended warrantee has cost more than the repairs but who knows what the repairs in the future will cost.

Computer update goes bad.

Got my car updated because I got a letter from the company to do so. Twenty four hour after the update, I'm driving on the interstate in traffic and the car starts losing power and the engine light starts flashing. I pull off the road and shut the car off thinking maybe the computer would reset itself. I called the dealership that had just updated the computer that I was on my way back to the dealership. I restarted the car and the engine light was still flashing. As I accelerated, the car began lurching forward but I finally got it going. The car never would go faster than 63 mph. I crippled the car 30 miles back to the dealership. I was informed this was happening to about 15% of the car that had called for a computer update. Lucky me. I now have a rental for the next five days. Hopefully, the car can be fixed. I just hope I didn't kill the car by driving so far back to the dealership with the engine light flashing but what else could I do?

love This SUV but power issue

We purchased this SUV new April 2018 noticed within a couple of weeks there was a power issue when trying to accelerate its like the car had no power I took it in and they ran test said they couldnt find any issues , but this issue is still on going they were to have noted my account as to my concerns

Overall trade in value is very poor. Ride is hard and power is poor. More horsepower is required. Too many blind spots. Finish is very good bot interior and exterior. Next time I will purchase a Highlander.
