Decent car

Overall I’m happy with the Tucson. Decent mileage, drives pretty smooth and quiet. Has lots of options and tech in it, however I don’t care for how the Apple car play works compared to my other vehicles. Also quite often I shut off the car, get out, and the rear doors don’t unlock. Have to literally open the front door and push the unlock button, I’ve never had a vehicle that the doors didn’t unlock when you parked. No setting seems to stop this. Also a few squeaks from interior body panels rubbing that I can’t quite locate The BIGGEST con is the fact the Adaptive cruise CANNOT be turned off. I hate that, I likely wouldn’t have purchased it had I known that.

Not Enough Electric and Backup Alarm is Annoying

The Tucson HEV is a fun sporty SUV to drive and I love the different driving modes and technology offerings (Limited trim), especially adaptive cruise control and driver-less auto forward and backwards. There are several "quirks" that are frustrating including when I push a drive or reverse button and don't have my brake pressed long enough and it stays in the previous mode and I push the gas not knowing that it's still in drive or reverse. Also, the trunk sometimes doesn't close all the way/seal shut after hitting the close button and nothing is blocking it, and then alarms go off in the car until it's opened and closed all the way. I wish it went into electric more, especially when the battery is over half charged--to "manually" leverage electric, I will often put it in "neutral" on straightaways and downhill. The backup alarm is way too loud and annoying since it sounds like a service truck. I've put tape over the speaker and that still doesn't reduce the volume enough.

Great design and performance

Living in the Texas Hill Country, we experience a wide variety of weather conditions—from glare ice to stifling heat. Getting in the Tucson, you are protected from whatever is out there. It is quiet, steady, and quite powerful when needed. I’m glad I bought it.

Great car.

Great electronic features including some luxury surprises (e.g., seat movement for entry/exit). Good hybrid experience -- the engine/motor transition works well and produces a quiet ride. My only complaints are that the backup beep is way too loud (impossible to leave the driveway without waking up the spouse), and that the IRL mpg is ~20% lower than advertised, even in summer.

Safe AND fun!

I love my Hyundai Tucson. I struggle with poor spatial awareness, slow reaction time, and distractibility, and this car has saved me many times. I am also a woman of a certain age, so the ventilated seats are a must. I enjoy taking long trips and using the Bluetooth option as well as the Apple Play. Everyone who rides in the car says it is comfortable and smooth.

I love my Tuscon's heated and AC seats throughout the vehicle! I just wish the vents were bigger and had a wider range of coverage. They are too slim and narrow and don't always do the job.

Nice vehicle but lousy mpg

R Mpg rated at 37 city and 37 highway. That's a joke! Highway Mpg might be 25 on a good day. Where they got their numbers God only knows. At actual highway speeds there is no way to even get close to 30 Mpg.

Problems

If I don’t drive my car for 10 days, the battery dies. And, it is virtually impossible to get the key in the key fob. So I end up having to call AAA.

Hyundai Warranty Support

The vehicle is great except for a fluttering noise at highway speeds. This appears to be a known product issue, but I have not had any warranty support from the Dealership or Hyundai USA. I am going to try another Dealership for my next scheduled service.

Great car but could get a little better gas mileage

Tucson rides comfortably, drives well, and the smart safety features are really nice. Had a few issues with a problematic warning lights and a couple of minore recalls. Overall, a good quality smaller SUV.
