Simply a Great SUV

Great mileage: I can drive close to 200 miles on a full tank of gas before needing another fill up. Smooth ride. Easy handling: doesn't feel heavy to drive at all. Very roomy without having the look or feel of a large SUV. Very sturdy: I've used my vehicle to move small to medium items and it performed like a champ. Looks good and performs well. I have an early model (2005) so it didn't come with a lot of bells and whistles like the later models and the interior is pretty standard. However, I love the exterior look of it.The only drawback is maintenance gets a little expensive once the warranty is up.

2005 Hyundai Tuscon White with some black trim

Bought in 2017 with 122,000 miles from nice family on CL. Service $200 costs 14 months with under 5000 miles include: Cleaned airflow sensor, new battery, Hyundai reset seat belt light, oil change, add gallon coolant. I am very happy with the look and performance.

Tucson review

Very sturdy vehicle but exhibits weakness in the links. Vehicle could be a bit more spacious in the rear seat. Needs better audio system. Weakness in the driver door elbow rest. Astray could be designed differently; too close to the gear shift.

Suv

The 05 suv is a good truck and runs well but I won’t be buying the new model because there are too small and I don’t like the body style therefore I will be looking some place else also this is my second automobile from your company so until the style change I must leave.

Long term Dependability

Our 2005 Hyundai Tucson has been reliable transportation since day one. It has a comfortable if not extraordinary interior with all controls in a logical pattern. All materials have shown good resistance to time and wear with the inside still providing an inviting atmosphere. The 2.7 V6 provides competent and smooth acceleration in all circumstances giving the driver a sense of safety and control. The suspension is a less bright spot, always having felt a little bumpy even after replacing the struts at 100,000. The other big miss is the gas mileage only averaging a meager 20 mpg. Overall though we have enjoyed the unending willingness to start, go and never miss a chance to travel through the city or take an extended highway trip.

2005 Best Tucson Year

I love my "Baby Blue" Tucson! My Tucson is just the right size for me, not too big/small, it drives well and gets very good gas mileage. The backseat and trunk space is excellent and the exterior design is better than the newer models to me. Great value for the money.

Great little SUV

I very much enjoy my 05 Tucson. The 2.7 V6 engine is very peppy! The vehicle handles and drives well. The overall performance of the Tucson is as good as much more expensive competitors. We presently own three Hyundais. I would recommend a Hyundai to all my friends.

2005 Hyundai Tucson

A reliable, cost-effective vehicle. Not too happy with the functioning of the automatic transmission (tends to downshift early and remain in 2nd or 3rd gear on hills,): the retainer for front ashtray broke several years ago and it's annoying that it won't stay closed; the functioning of the power door locks are a nuisance, and as of last week, the drivers manual lock switch is inoperative.

LOVE MY CAR

I have been driving for 50 years and I have never had a car so long (13 years). I only have 80,000 miles but I have never driven a car to that extent. I think it's probably time to trade it in but I hate to let it go!

2005 Best Tucson Year

The 2005 Tucson is comfortable and just the right size, not too small/large. The build quality is sturdy and it handles even the bumpiest roads well. It has good highway gas mileage and It's basic features performs well. The overall styling, interior/exterior is of good quality. If you keep up the maintenance on the vehicle it's reliability is fantastic! This make and model year of the Tucson is a great value for the money.

2005 Best Tucson Year

This model year may not have all the bells and whistles of the newer models but it has all the others beat in quality, service and maintenance. At 103,000+miles still runs like a champ in bad weather.

2005 Tucson

Still running, some parts are now starting to fail, horns, hydrolics for the hatchback, light housing is foggy, (after dealership cleared them up once). Not a bad investment for the money. I may buy another in a few years.

2005 Tuscan manual tranmission

I've driven a stick for most of my adult life. My last five cars have been manual transmission vehicles. I wanted a small SUV with a manual transmission. I live in Brooklyn. There aren't many manual SUVs in this town. In 2009 I bought this car from a guy who moved to NYC from New Mexico (where stick shifts are plenty). His wife didn't want to drive a stick, so he sold it to me at a bargain price. I love driving this car. I'm a very independent filmmaker. I sometimes sell stuff at flea markets. I lug big canisters of movie film to film festivals. And my wife & I shop big. This car is perfect for us. We've had to change the clutch twice in 14 years. Not bad. The worst problem was an electrical problem the dealership service dept in Brooklyn took care of. I can honestly say I am close to loving this car.
