Tucson is a good car for the money

The car is good I feel the movement of brakes when I go over a bump And would like to get better gas mileage,but probably need a hybrid for that! I also have trouble with the seat because they hit the back of my legs in the wrong spot. First car I've ever had with that experience

Style and Interior better than most in the same price class

So far the only major complaint is the vehicle is underpowered. It drives just fine on mor or less level roads and handle small hills as well. But get into any mountainous areas and the small engine really has to huff and puff. On a trip to the Blue Ridge Mountain area. the Tucson really had difficulty making the climb at times. We like the vehicle but will need to look at other makes or Hyundai models, like the Santa Fe with a more powerful engine. Have chosen and driven Santa Fe's when I had to rent and I am impressed with the bigger engine. Also, the Santa Fe drives differently than the Tucson and I like it more. The Santa Fe is bigger but it seems, to me at least, it drives "smaller" I was told the rental agencies do not rent the Sport model with the Turbo and that is unfortunate as you really need to drive a vehicle for 2 to 3 days to really become familiar with the vehicle. Test drives do very little. Still I recommend the Tucson in the class of vehicle it finds itself.

2013 Hyundai Tucson

Car drives nice. Disappointed had to replace the original tires at 18, 00 miles. Never had to replace tires at that mileage prior to this vehicle. Was told the tires were not under any warranty. First car I bought new without a tire warranty. Also, needed front brake pads due to them being cracked or split at 28,000 miles.

2013 Tucson reveiw

It is a sporty and comfortable. However the back seat does not go all the way down making it difficult for loading and transporting things. The pick up on the drive is not very good. Also, with in 2 months of purchasing the vehicle, my husband and I have heard strange sounds that make you think the car is going to cut out. It doesn't and the sound goes away for a while but always returns. The dealership has tried to replicate the sound but after 5 years still can not replicate it. Would not buy another Tucson or Hyundai.

Not smooth and noisy

Compared to other newer vehicles I find the Tucson to be loud riding and you feel every bump. I do like the body style and size a lot though. You pay for what you get. I can’t believe there is no outside temperature either!

The 2005 Model was Better

I bought my 2013 Tucson not paying close attention to the details because I figured I was buying a nicer looking version of my 2005. WRONG!! The rear hatch had a window that could be opened. Not the 2013. The wheel covers went from thick and nice to the cheap flimsy material. Don't get me started on the 2013's seats. The material has something wrong where every time water is spilled, it looks like oil. I had the dealership detail the stains out twice which was above and beyond their responsibility (Curry Hyundai in Cortlandt Manor, NY). I have spoken to other Hyundai owners who experienced the same issue. Another thing taken away in the 2013 was the roof rack, which was standard on the 2005 base model. I was informed that if I do not buy a feature package, a roof rack cannot be installed, even by Hyundai technicians or the warranty is null and void. I can only guess that the roof must be flimsy. As far as the engine and systems go, brakes wore out quickly in both years' cars but the engine runs great and I love the overall quality of the Hyundai engine. I would buy another base model Tucson ONLY if the seats are made of a different material.

Meh

Good car for my teenage son. He's able to fit his entire drum kit into it with room to spare. Reliable and affordable. Ride is average, steering and breaking are good, accelerator is touchy. Not a fan of the cheaper interior plastic parts, and the windows are poorly designed (stick sometimes, motor for rear window had to be replaced, switches are cheap and had to replace two of them). Replaced the rear lift door/trunk switch twice. It's cheap and poorly designed. Blind spot visibility is an issue as well.

Not too impressed but going to keep for long haul

The Tuscan is a good car. Not great. Will keep for the full ten years as that is why I got it. Electronics are below par.

Love Hyundai but the Tucson...not so much

From a reliability standpoint, I will stick with Hyundai cars. This is the 3rd one I've owned. Previously had Santa Fe, which I LOVED. I find the Tuscon has several blind spots and sight line barriers that create a hazard for me -- I'm 5' tall. Plus, it is much noisier than my Santa Fe was. I would absolutely purchase another Hyundai, but would either go back for a Santa Fe, or scale down a bit to an Elantra. I am not a fan of the Tuscon.

2013 Tucson “Limited”

Tucson is a “Limited” doesn’t even have a compass. Bluetooth system has to be re-selected each time the car is started ( pain in the rear). I would think that a vehicle with the top trim level would have remote rear hatch opening and closing.

Tuscon

This is the 3rd huyandai I have bought and the worst I ever had. Electrical issues from the first year and now will not stand behind their product. I have had this vehicle to two of the area dealers at least every couple of months for the same issue. Now it is broken and no warranty. Never asked for a remote start but came with one anyway. I figure I got a vehicle someone didn’t want. JUNK PURE JUNK. Will never buy a huyandai ever again. I will not recommend it and tell friends don’t do it.

Engine Failure

I wish I could write a 5 stars review because I really liked my Tucson Limited but the problem with engine failure in the Theta II engine has been a nightmare... and bc I’m not the original owner the 10 years warranty doesn’t work!
