Dual Transmission, Really?

I'm sure alot of educated minds decided that this was a good idea to add a few additional parts instead of building an entire vehicle with a standard transmission. But, was it?

Under Powered, Unacceptable Transmission.

In almost every respect the 2016 Hyundai Tucson is a satisfying SUV. Except the engine is weak, the transmission is poor, & the ride is a bit noisy.

Meh.....

This is the third Tuscon that I have purchased brand new. I fell in love with this vehicle when it first came into the market. I had little to no problems with either my 2005, or my 2011 Tuscons. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my latest Tuscon, a 2016 limited with all the bells and whistles- this one has been the worst! I have had major problems with it including an AC compressor dying at 1.5 years old, a defective/malfunctioning blind spot detection system, and a defective/failing airbag system. All of these problems on a car that is not even 2 years old! I am so disappointed in the quality/performance/reliability of this vehicle. Thankfully, Hyundai has a good warranty and all repairs have been covered with nothing out of my pocket, but it is still quite inconvenient to have a vehicle that is in for repair more than it is out.

You get good mileage inner city and freeway. The seats can be a little more plush for daily and road trips. The price was a little more than I'd expected it.

will give it a 10 if the navigation/ phone system is corrected to something more usable. also what is it about the grill at the front of the car. it looks incomplete with one side covered with a solid piece and one side open.looks shitty and incomplete.

Nice car but not best

Overall I like the Tucson. Nice midsize SUV. Love the Mohave Sand color! Hate the transmission! Not smooth stop to start or at 0-5 miles per hour, even after recall repair! Seats are pretty firm. But love the color and style!

2016 Hyundai Tucson 2.0 2WD

Car is very spacoius for its size. Interior design has clean lines and is easy to clean with no awkward angles or hard to reach places. Plenty of of head space for even the tallest person. The interior of the car is a lot bigger than the car looks. Seats are a bit firm especially on long drives, but durable. Virtually no interior noise and is very quiet while driving on the freeway. Outside design is very stylish with its swept back design and stylish headlights with an illuminated ban across the top gives the front end a sports car look. Now the down side. The 2.0 engine is lacking in power and get up even in sport mode and don't even think about driving it in eco mode. Because of the gutless motor always trying to keep up leaves the mpg something to be desired at around 22 to 25 mpg city and 26 to 30 mpg highway. I would have thought this being a smaller crossover that it would get 30 to 40 mpg, but I was told by a car mechanic that the 2.0 motor was too underpowered for the size of the car. I especially feel the lack of power when I have four adults in the car as compared to just driving by myself. This being said the lack of power does not make this car fun to drive although the drive is smooth and quiet. I just wish it had a more powerful and torque driven motor. Overall this is a great car for the money no doubt.

Love the look not the quality

I love the way it looks and all the interior, but I have not been pleased with the performance. When I'm driving in slower traffic, it quiver. I've had it in the shop 3 times for big issues. Twice because my air conditioning quits working when I drive long distances and once because it QUIT DRIVING while I was going through a stop sign. My car before this was 8 years old and I never had any issues. A brand new car that costs me over $35k should not be doing that.

Do NOT go Ecoboost!

I love the look of this vehicle, it's very attractive inside and out. One knock on the paint though, because it is continuously chipping. We need to have the hood repainted, which is annoying. Second HUGE knock is ecoboost.....oh my gosh, this is such a horrible feature. I don't know how many times I barely avoided a crash because you absolutely cannot speed up quickly to get into the flow of traffic, or go across an intersection. Sometimes, I can have the gas petal to the floor and it literally does not move or slows midway thru the action. So scary!! Needless to say I turn it off when I drive, my hubby uses it for his travels though. NEVER AGAIN will we buy a vehicle with this option. Such a bad design.

No vents in arm test

If you sit in rear there’s no air or heat in back for people to feel. I didn’t notice until after the car was sold to me. The salesman made money off selling a car with nothing. That’s a bummer

Bad

The brakes lights keep going out and Checkech engine light keeps coming, now the passenger seat belt light is flashing when no one us seating there. The lights has been fixed several time was told housing was bad they changed them both, was out driving and both lights went out. Censor has been changed for check engine and its on again.
