Turbo

The turbo in this car is really not a Turbo. When you think of turbo you think that it will have pick up and go in a vehicle. The turbo in the Tucson has a delayed reaction. I have brought it in the service department more than once thinking something is wrong with it. It seems like it is going to stall sometimes.

Tucson

Not much to comment. Obviously the car was built with a bad design. Didn't take into consideration the dual clutch with the Turbo. Can't wait to get rid of it. Don't trust it. Too much money for what I got

overall good but some issues

After owning a Santa Fe for 12 years there was no doubt that I would buy another Hyundai. Also own a Sonata. Went with Tucson b/c Santa Fe too large and expensive now. Have had repeated issues with the dual clutch transmission. Hyundai replaced it, but still having the same issue. Frustrating. Also the lumbar support went out in the driver seat. They are replacing it. I have no problem with the service, just had NO issues with the Santa Fe and surprised so many issues with the Tucson. Wish the Santa Fe had stayed smaller and less expensive or the Tucson (2016) did not have the transmission issue. Also the gas mileage is not as high as I had hoped it would be, averages about 28 mpg.

2016 Tucson

Have been driving Hyundai since 2000. Tucson is the most disappointing vehicle ever. I wonder if the commitment to quality is still there. Need to get rid of duel clutch transmission. To bad the service personnel at the dealer has to be the ones to deal with the customer for an inferior product that Hyundai has built and continues to do nothing to resolve the issue.

2016 Tucson

This crossover is very comfortable. The size and style of the car are just right. The exterior front and back lights could have been designed differently so that illumination at night would be better.

Tucson

I like the vehicle overall. I like the size of the vehicle and I love the gas mileage I get. The trunk space is a little too small, but it gets the job done. However, I don't like the transmission b/c the car sometimes acts as if it doesn't want to go.

Under Powered due to change in the transmission

While the styling and appearance of the car is good some of its finish in the front door sill areas leaves much to be desired. This models engine performance and it s overall finish is not as good as the previous year's model which we have in the family.

2016 Hyundai Vehicle.

The cars drives best in Sport mode, and is even more responsive in manual shift. The space is decent and it's comfortable for a car that size. Plenty of cup holders, nice backup camera, a/c and heat work great. The radio sounds decent and is even equipped with Sirius XM, one auxiliary input, and one USB to keep your external audio source charged. Two additional cigarette lighter plugs are also available for another device such as a GPS or electrical converter for a portable computer. Unfortunately this vehicle did not come with GPS, but it's nothing that can't be added by simply purchasing a Garmin. No rear USB, or rear vents for A/C and heat. The 60/40 split seats along with the hatchback allow for decent cargo space. Having the tire under the cargo is a plus compared to vehicles that carry the spare underneath. If you want extra cargo space you are definitely gonna want the crossbars on the roof. I really wish Hyundai would have thought of adding the option of opening the "C" pillar windows like vents like they did with the 93' Hyundai Excel Hatchback. It does well on gas and it could do better if the economy mode was any good. Unfortunately the vehicle does not respond well in economy mode and just lacks power as the computer is trying to conserve fuel, but the response time is just not feasible in today's driving speeds when trying to pull out of a busy intersection or accelerating into the flow of traffic. That is the only complaint I have about this car, maybe it has to do with poor software design for economy mode. Default mode isn't as bad, but yet still does not have the pep that one would want unless you are driving under 40 mph or less. If you need to get on any road or highway above 40-45, you need to consider putting it into sport. After you have achieved desired cruise control speed then you can revert back to the default mode, only difference is that you will lose pick up speed if you need to suddenly slow down and accelerate again. For this reason I usually leave it in sport mode when the commute is congested and I avoid the acceleration difference and negative reaction time that default mode can experience.

2016 Tucson with all options

1st problem is the clutching system (not real name). Very jerky when going from 1st to second gear. 2- Pick up when entering the freeway on a bit of an incline or having to get out of the way of another car not very good . Too much hesitation. 3 - Because I am short, the front of the car is very hard to see as the hood slopes so far. 4- Without having to adjust the drivers seat, getting out of the car is difficult do to the upward curve of the seat which is designed to give more support for the hips. Sorry I can't give a better review. Loved my 2005 Tucson much more, although it had acceleration problems. Have a question. Why do all newer SUVs look basically the same? Was parked next to a Lexus of the same color and almost tried to get in it. I don't want to drive a car that looks like every other car, especially when they are the same color.

Tucson Review

Great car EXCEPT for the Turbo Ending. Love the GPS and cooling system. Easy to drive overall. Drives great in the snow, rain and handles the New Mexico sandstorms well. Night time driving is a breeze.

Awww, it'll do

I can't wait for my lease to be up. The 2016 Tucson was nice in the beginning and now has odd things happening here and there. I owned a 2012 Santa Fe and loved it ... had it for 4 yrs and then someone smashed into me and totaled it -- darn ! I thought I would lease this time around and lease a smaller SUV. Comfortable but again, odd things happen and then stop happening ... so I can't report it and take it in for service ...

Cute but dysfunctional

I love the look and design, but I have had so many issues with it. Once the car just quit driving, the air conditioner has quit working twice, and my front driver door wouldn't open from the outside, all within 3 years. I bought it brand new. My college car was 10 years old and I never had it in the shop for issues. May just be a poorly made car. I hate the acceleration on it. It takes it forever to catch up and "stutters" as you try to gain speed.

Unsure of the brand but happy with Miller Service

I really do like my Tucson but it seems to have an engine problem. My Tuscon is a 2016 and twice since October it has gone almost completely out of oil. The car does not smoke and no oil puddles are ever found. I have taken it in twice but in order to make a case to Hyundai, I have to take it back every 1000 miles, 4 times. Now we are afraid to drive the car out of town in fear the engine might go. I don’t think I will buy another Hyundai.

Smooth ride, but I’ve had some issues

I like the size of the car. Exactly what I wanted. The car itsel well it’s ok. I’ve had some issues while driving where car looses speed. It’s quite strange took it in for check up and they can’t figure out why it does that. My front passenger car door lock went out had to get it replaced and so did the back left door a month later. So I’m watching my cat for and other issues it might have. I’ve had my car for almost 3 years

Lousy transmisssion

The Tucson is a beautiful automobile with classic body styling and a nicely appointed interior. I like everything about it except the transmission. Sometimes on a downhill in idle it refuses to upshift so you get to listen to the whine of 3,500 rpm. When stopped on a steep uphill it has been known to refuse to go like a stubborn mule. And a few times, when pulling out into busy traffic, it has hesitated, which really gets one's attention. Overall it's a beautiful machine but I would not buy another nor recommend it to my friends.

The turbo

The turbo is very lagging when you get going after a stop. It is a dissapointment. This needs to be improved so you can actually consider it being a turbo. I do like the interior and the feature it comes with in the Limited.

still random issues with clutch plates. So random I hesitate calling for service appt. Hesitation pulling out ftom stops. Jerking motion when in stop & go traffic. Definetly don’t use the eco mode. Hesitation seems worse in this mode.
