2017 Hyundai Tucson

The ride is not smooth but i like the sporty feel to it and all the features it offers for the money. The dealership did not contact me on any of the recalls which is very upsetting. I would not recommend this vehicle to my friends.

Survey 2

The Suv is a nice comfortable vehicle but I do not recommend the shift button. I don’t like the transmission feel of taking off like your in a standard shifting. If I wanted a vehicle like that I would of bought a standard in the first place. It’s been very close having wrecks because of the hesitation from a complete stop to accelerate!

nice car but......

Lots of lag from the stoplight. Shudders until about 10 miles per hour. There is no fix. That really is unacceptable. I like Hyundai in general. We will be getting rid of this car soon. I'm glad I don't have to drive it in NY bumper to bumper traffic twice a day, commuting to work

2017 Tucson Limited-Nice vehicle, but has tranny issues.

Want to love this car, but the dual clutch transmission is awful. When needing to accelerate in a hurry, the car hesitates and is anything but smooth. I was told that I had the tranny update that the 16's got, but it's still not right.

2017 Tucson Eco Turbo

When we test drove this car, it seamed to be very nice and comfortable. The performance and handling were above par for the duration of the test drive (which did not include freeway or city driving due to the large accommodating parking lot next door.) Soon after our purchase, we noticed hesitation from a standing start. It rolled forward and then the clutch slipped leaving us in very dangerous positions. When the clutch re-engaged, it jumped forward and almost caused a rear-end accident. In another instance, it caused a tire-chirping jack rabbit start and we were right next to a police car, and he gave us a very stern look. This problem should be treated very seriously and sales should cease until it is resolved. Otherwise, we love the care.

Nice but could be better

During traffic jams I’ve noticed that the acceleration is not smooth at all. Feels like a bumpy ride just releasing the break without having to accelerate. I do love the keyless start and the electric rear door opener and closing.

Transmission

I have had my Tucson to the dealer three or four times and told them that I don’t think the transmission shifts correctly. When taking off from a rolling stop the transmission sounds like it is slipping. The engine accelerate but the vehicle doesn’t go and at times leaves you in a bad place if something is coming towards you. Does not seem to happen when at the dealer and does happen all the time.

Hesitatiom,dual engine

I am not happy with the hesitation on the Dual engine I had a Sonata and it never did that I do not feel safe with my six-year-old son. I tried to get it fixed two times and keep on getting told it's not going to happen since there's engine light is not on

The ride is smooth and I like the look of the vehicle. However I’m very disappointed in the quality of the radio. My Chevy that was of course older had a much better radio and display. Had I been able to test the radio while using pandora or my phone I most like would have not purchased this vehicle. Also when I bought it there was a vibration. I was told this was due to it sitting and would work itself out or they would make it right if not. Second time I was told a rotation should help. Third time I was told it was the tires and my only option was to purchase brand new tires... unacceptable.

I do not like the way my Tucson shifts, like being in a car with a standard shift. The rear could use more space for carrying luggage, etc. The passenger seat in all of the Hyundais needs to be higher, too low when you sit on it.

Terrible Pick-up

I love the look of this vehicle, with its sleek exterior and gorgeous alloy wheels, its full-length sunroof, and it's spacious interior. The driver's seat is very, very comfortable, though the passenger seat is extremely low and strange to sit in, after being used to sitting up high in the driver's seat. The rear camera for backing up is really pathetic. The screen is so small, and the corners blurred, as well as having a fog-up issue in certain weather. I did not feel safe using the backup camera, compared with using the backup camera in my Honda CRV. Last but not least, and most importantly, the vehicle had little pickup upon acceleration, and often bogged down when trying to go from a stopped position when the light changes. It chugged. Sometimes it felt as though it would stall. Though I had the vehicle for only 6500 miles, I decided it would be best to find a vehicle in a similar class with better pick up. And a better backup camera!

Dependable but too big for me

I truly love Hyuandai and staff but to be honest I miss my Elantra. I have a hard time seeing at night and this car is just a little too big for me to see out when out onto a highway. I also miss my seat warmers. Thanks so much for all that u do!

Not totally pleased

The look of the Tucson is sharp. I like the color the vehicle shape, but it's not for me. I don't like the size, the take of gear is a hard take off and it burns too much gas. I want a larger more fuel efficient SUV.

Hyundai tucson

Have had to replace two tires because of broken cords. Fuel cap takes 2 people to close because the pin holding it shut doesn't move freely to allow you to close the cap. Rear window is always dirty.

Tuscon

Hesitates from a stopped position. Jerks at times upon acceleration. Other than this con it's a good vehicle for the money. Good warranty and service at the dealership. Good fuel economy. Excellent safety features.

Not as happy as I thought I would be

I have had several complaints about buying this vehicle in 2017. Each complaint I have been told that there are no recalls on what my concerns are. A few complaints would be the radio changes stations constantly on it's own once you turn it off and turn it on again. It accelerates on it's own in both cruise control and not on cruise control. I am not the only person who has experienced this. Although I brought it to Hyundai's attention, they cannot find a problem driving around the block, which it won't show up until it has been driven for about 1/2 hour. Have problems with front windshield during the day, it reflects the light weird or something. As I said this is only a few of my problems.

2017 Tucson 2.0L SEL Plus

Vehicle rides well. Engine acceleration is mediocre but we did not want the problematic dual clutch transmission and turbo engine which has been discontinued in the Tucson for 2019. Interior materials are okay but hard surfaces scratch easily. Leather quality is average and feels a bit like upgraded vinyl. Vehicle is relatively quiet and absorbs bumps well. Unfortunately brakes began squeaking intermittently at when SUV was a year old and now more frequently at 17 months of ownership. This should not have happened on a SUV driven very conservatively. Dealer was unable to identify cause saying brakes and rotors are fine. This is our third Hyundai and we're not sure how long we will be able to tolerate the brake issue before we trade it in on another brand.

Not pleased with the transmission

The transmission has a habit of being slow to engage at times. Service told me that this was normal. I feel it could be a safety issue, if the issue presented itself at the wrong time. I found in reading reviews, that others have this same problem.

2017 Tucson

I drove the car over an year, and during that time, I had a couple of issues ( A/C and transmission ) and I had to bring the car back to be fixed again for the service because that both have the problems.

Initially good

Initial quality was very good and performance was better than expected from a small 4 cylinder with a turbo charger. However, after 3 or 4000 miles, we noticed a rotational noise when the temperature was over 50 degrees and accelerating, the dealer has never been able to fix this. Due to this we will not return to Hyundai
